Gilgamesch — Restaurant in Berlin

This is literally my favorite restaurant in the whole greifswalderstr region.

Okay so the food is literally amazing, this is one of the few places I can eat from 3 times a week. The best is the Kibbe (i tried they veggie version, but the meat one also looks good). Its also a hard to find dish outside Gilgamesh. The other option is the spinach-cheese pita dish, I just wish I discovered this place earlier.

The staff and atmosphere is very chill and friendly. Its very comfortable to eat there and I almost never take away because its very welcoming to eat there.

Honestly I suggested this place to all my friends and I really think this place is worth the try(if not worth the regular visit).

I’ve been sampling this place from time to time during the last couple of years. While some visits were OK, I’ll never forget the last time: Had dinner here (Halloumi-Makali plate), went back home. Woke up in the middle of the night feeling sick with terrible nausea... this evolved into a 4-day long food poisoning episode which was an absolute nightmare!

The reviews are good, the prices are relatively cheap and people working here are nice and have good intentions, however, if you look closely enough, you’ll notice that the hygienic standards of this restaurant are quite significantly below average. Dirty tables and contaminated...

I'm giving this place 1 star before even trying my takeaway order for the following reasons:

The staff member wiped the kitchen counter with a dirty cloth and, without changing gloves, picked up leftover veggies from the counter and placed them in my order box. He then grabbed a handful of veggies with the same gloves, which had just been handling a nearly black, filthy cloth, and added them to my box. Another staff member, who had been handling cash and touching random things, took out a piece of bread, fondled it as if he were petting a cat, and then placed...
