Hanoi Cantine — Restaurant in Berlin

I was there together with an friend and I really loved it. The interior is really nicely made and you think, while you sit there, that you are inside of the living room of a Vietnamese family while looking out of the door directly to the market. Really lovely! The waiter was a little shy, but really quick. The service was really good and we got our meals really quick. The menu cards are made like a Vietnamese newspaper and there is a lot of choice! For example, soups, salads, traditional meals and burgers, different (iced) teas - I highly recommend you the lemon iced tea or Feminine (less acidic) - and alcoholic drinks. I had a mango, potatoe cream soup together with some rice. It was really delicious and tasty. I really like the atmosphere and I would love to spend more time there together with my friends and family. (Also check the toilet out. The details and ideas there are just great! 😊) For two people with drinks we've spent around 26€. I guess, that's really fair! I would go there...

Rather disappointing today (though had better experiences previously). The salad dressing was extremely sweet. The Hanoi special tee was very hot (spicy), and not enjoyable. The service was clinically transactional. Note they only take the EC card. Not their fault in particular, but it is a bit tiresome to keep hearing all non-EC as referred to as ‘credit’ cards. As this fusion food place seems to draw a crowd, we gave it a try, but were disappointed. The chef's starter came with two salads out of 3 servings which was poor for the most expensive starter. The beef in my turf and surf was chewy and we both didn't like the not so fresh salad in the plates.
