I never visit Italian restaurants outside of Italy, and I never eat cuisine from Lucania outside of Lucania! This time, my preconceived notions were challenged, as Il Pozzetto has left a lasting impression on me! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, and an excellent atmosphere. These are the best ingredients you will find at Il Pozzetto. This place is a rare gem among the Italian restaurants offered in Berlin. The simple fact that the cook is Italian already makes the difference. I was pleasantly surprised by the authentic Italian cooking and handmade pasta. The guy knows how to make hand/made pasta and properly cook it according to tradition. I felt 100% at home! If you book at Il Pozzetto, do yourself a favour and ask for a plate of Strascinati, the traditional handmade pasta from Lucania, this is a mouth-watering dish. This is a great place for lunch. We visited with my colleagues at noon. We were dining at the tables outside. The staff promptly assisted us in rearranging the tables to accommodate our group of six. We waited for our food for about 30 minutes, so it's advisable to plan your time accordingly. I particularly enjoyed dish 77, a mix of various pastas (pictured). Die Gastgeber, eine italienische Familie, haben es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, authentische Küche und Gastfreundschaft auf höchstem Niveau zu bieten. Und das spürt man in jedem Detail. Die Begrüßung? Herzlich, mit einem charmanten italienischen Akzent und dem Gefühl, als wäre man ein alter Freund.

Die Speisekarte war eine Hommage an die Vielfalt Italiens: von klassischen Antipasti wie Bruschetta und Carpaccio über hausgemachte Pasta bis hin zu perfekt zubereiteten Hauptgerichten wie Ossobuco oder Saltimbocca alla Romana. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich die Pasta: frisch, handgemacht und mit einer Sauce, die mit ihrem intensiven Geschmack nach reifen Tomaten, frischen Kräutern und einem Hauch Knoblauch keine Wünsche offen ließ.

Der Service war aufmerksam, aber niemals aufdringlich. Die Empfehlungen des Kellners waren goldrichtig, vor allem bei der Auswahl des Weines – ein vollmundiger Chianti, der die Aromen des Essens perfekt ergänzte.

Das Dessert? Ein Traum. Das hausgemachte Tiramisu war luftig, cremig und genau richtig süß, während die Panna Cotta mit frischen Beeren für ein frisches, fruchtiges Finale sorgte.
