Update 26/2/23. As you can see we’ve frequented this restaurant and really enjoyed it, but something was wrong the weekend of 16/17/2/23. We went on the 16th, bread was stale, no oil or butter, yellow fin tuna was dry and the tiramisu was awful, The veal and Parmesan pasta dishes were very nice. Our daughter and friends went on the 17th and were sat outside in a tent like structure with heaters, but it never got warm (it is Feb after all) they weren’t asked, when booking , if they would sit outside. Their bread was also stale and no oil or butter. Bruschetta was dry and they had ordered the Parmesan spaghetti on our recommendation. The food wasn’t prepped at the table, they went inside the restaurant to watch, and the waiter recommended they leave out the brandy flambé , because they taste was better without it? The food was also cold by the time it came to the table(because it was cold outside) and they had to get it reheated. On reflection, we asked ourselves why we didn’t say anything on the night and for that we are to blame. I think we were just dumbfounded at how downhill it was and thought it should be better for the next day. Our daughter and friends stayed despite the outside seating because they didn’t think they would get somewhere else at 8pm on a Friday night in Berlin and because we had so highly recommended it they thought it would be worth it!! (Sorry guys) A real shame, hope it’s a one off.
Original review:- What a gem of a restaurant! I would say the best bruschetta we’ve ever had and a superb main course(dish of the day) Dorado and a beautiful Parmesan pasta, lovely atmosphere and a great waiter, Romulo? Sorry if we spelt it wrong. His recommendations and advice were spot on. Will be a fixture for our next Berlin visit, easy 5 stars❤️ Update…… went twice this weekend ( 23/4 & 24/4 and still not disappointed, highly...
Read moreEverything went well until we asked for the bill. Before that, the food was really good, the atmosphere really nice, and the service as well. When we order the bill, and we said we were going to pay by card, the waiter came with the card machine, and said the tip was not included in the bill so he was going to add a tip in the card machine. The bill was 49 with something, and he put 55 euros. Now, I always leave a tip when I go to a restaurant, but this should be voluntary, you should not be forced to pay for tip or that the waiter decides how much tip you have to pay. For this reason we are not going back and would not recommend this place. And it is a shame because as I said the food and atmosphere was really good.
EDIT: I have just read some of the other reviews, and it seems this is a common practice, and as there are other people that have complaint about this, and it continues to happen, I guess the management does not really care about this issue. Which...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and I must say, the highlight of our evening was the incredible service provided by our waiter, Toni Macaroni. Toni is hands down the best waiter we have ever encountered. He is not only incredibly funny and smart, but he also speaks five languages fluently and connected with every member of our group on a personal level.
Toni's presence made the atmosphere unforgettable, and his service was nothing short of exemplary. The food was delicious, but it is Toni's heartfelt service that will keep us coming back. He truly goes above and beyond, and even put on a unique show for us, making our experience extraordinary.
Toni Macaroni deserves recognition as the head waiter and certainly a raise. I firmly believe that many guests return to this restaurant specifically because of him. We will definitely be back, thanks to Toni’s unparalleled...
