Nikuya Yakiniku Japanese BBQ Restaurant — Restaurant in Berlin

My friend had Nikuya on a list of restaurants she was thinking of visiting on her Berlin trip, so we reserved a table for dinner. We were greeted by very friendly and professional staff. After looking through the beautiful menu, we knew that we wanted the A5 Wagyu Mori Set. I ordered a yuzu lemonade, which was refreshing and had the right amount of sweetness (not too sweet). My friend loved the cucumber salad the most, but kimchi and wakame salad were also yummy, as was the miso soup. The rice was also delicious. When the gorgeous-looking meat and the vegetables appeared, we received a demonstration and explanation on how to grill the meat and vegetables. There were 5 different cuts, 3 of which were our favourites, but all tasted exquisite. I didn’t need the sauces or the salt because the meat was so flavourful, but the sauces and salt were also fantastic. My friend said she usually doesn’t like pumpkin, but the grilled pumpkin was a true delight. We accidentally made a mistake while grilling the fattiest cut and were rescued by the server, to whom we are very grateful! We were afraid we might smell like grilled meat, but nope, no smell at all on our clothes or in our hair when we left. No doubt it‘s not a cheap, everyday meal, but we left feeling like it was money absolutely well spent and will remember this as one of the best meals...

As a Muslim, I was particularly delighted by their offering of halal meat, which made the dining experience both comfortable and enjoyable. Our visit coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, and to our pleasant surprise, the staff presented us with dates at the end of our meal—a thoughtful gesture that resonated deeply with us.

The quality of the meat was exceptional; each piece was tender and flavourful, making every bite a delight. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, enhancing the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. For those unfamiliar with the art of barbecuing, the attentive team is more than willing to guide, assist, and explain the process, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience.

I finally visited Nikuya Yakiniku Japanese BBQ restaurant. I had reserved a table as was not sure how crowded would it be.

When I reached the restaurant, the host at the reception checked in the list and showed us the table.

Then they gave us tablets to look at the menu. The menu was slow in loading. But we ordered the food including starters and then some menu set.

The food came quickly, and the starters tasted good. Then the staff showed us how to use the grill. And cook. The team was so friendly and amazing.

The meat is halal (as shared by the team) and is definitely good quality. The nice part is it comes in boxes, all about presentation and it looked so nice. We had angus and seafood and absolutely loved it. It comes with dips to enrich the flavor.

The ambience is very cozy and nice. We sat for a long time and definitely highly recommend this if you want to explore Japanese BBQ.
