The most racist place i've ever encountered. We tried going with a friend and were waiting to ask for a table. We were ignored for a while although the place was not busy at all and they had seen us come in. Eventually a woman asked us "what do you want?". Note we are Greek and were speaking greek so it was obvious we were not German. We have been living and working in the UK and in Switzerland for over 10 years and have never experienced anything like this. Anyway- moving on:
I kindly asked for a table of two. She said "we're full". I said that we would be in and out quickly and she said annoyed and very rudly "i told you no, all the bookings will arrive soon" . I said "ok no worries, i just thought i'd ask in case you had tables that are available for 30-40 mins but were just booked for later on" and she even more annoyed replied "and i have already replied to you- what more do you want? Leave"
Immediately behind us was German couple, also without a reservation who were greeted very politely and were shown to a table.
I checked online and as expected the place had plenty of availability online. So i booked a table and walked back in. When they saw us they looked very annoyed and told us again that they cannot do anything for us. When i told them we have a reservation which they found on the system, the woman rolled her eyes and lead us to one of the many empty tables. My partner asked how come they wouldn't seat us 5 mins ago and the response was "the booking is for table 93 but as you see that table is not available. Thats why i said no".
Which doesn't even make sense cause 1)anyone who has ever booked a table online knows that you cannot choose from the table numbering and that this numbering is only internal and probabky automatically assigned upon booking And 2) when she refused to seat us, we did not have a reservation.
Of course we did not stay.
It is dissappointing and sad to see people behave this...

They sat us in the fireplace room which was completely empty while there were people sitting in all the different rooms. The waitress than proceeded to give us to menus in German and a pamphlet with a QR code. She just pointed at the code and said “English menu”. We noticed that there were a ton of dishes that didn’t appear on the English menu. When we asked waitress why are there dishes that don’t show on the English menu she just said she doesn’t understand English and didn’t try by one bit to understand us or accommodate to us. The food was okay but nothing more than that and certainly didn’t feel like it was worth the price. After a long time after we’ve finished the food and no one came to check on us my partner went to her to ask for the check and she just told him to go sit. He went back to her a few minutes later and she finally came to our table looking displeased. At the end the food was mediocre and not worth the price and the waitress was super rude. It feels pretty weird that a restaurant in a relatively touristy area wouldn’t have someone who knew even a bit of English and it was super super shady that the English menu had dishes...
Read moreStaff was rude and I found a hair on my food. Waitress just left when we told them we dont speak german. They took very long to take our order, even tho there were two more women working, but they were just chatting inside. The rude one that refused to say even sorry for leaving when we said we dont speak german called another waitress whi spoke a little english and took our order. When my food came there was a hair on it, when I told them they said they will take it and delete it from the bill, I was starving and they took so long to take our order that I just kept it and she asked me "What do you want then??" when I said I was going to keep it. They offered me a free coffee bc of the food issue. A Canadian couple came and the same rude waitress that just left when we spoke englisv was taking their order very kindly, they were older than us and Canadian so I guess its...
