Rissani Berlin — Restaurant in Berlin

A good restaurant offers guests fresh quality and good service every day. I loved Rissani three years ago. I was extremely disappointed yesterday. Anyone who knows the place knows that it is authentic and honest. It has the charm of a beauty that doesn't need make-up. But yesterday was Sunday, it was 12 o'clock and we ordered two Rissani plates. The stressed employee was extremely annoyed, but there were hardly any guests in the restaurant. I had to spit out the carrots on the plate. The hummus was unbearable. Did you give out Saturday's food again? I was there with my kids. Everyone and I got diarrhea and stomach pains during the night and this morning. I spent all day on the toilet. If I hadn't felt so sorry for the employee on site, I would have liked to throw the plate at his feet. That was a real mess. No wonder the guests go to the neighboring restaurant. This is one of our favourite places to eat in Berlin. The food is outstanding: generously-portioned, extraordinarily cheap and served up quickly by friendly staff. You won't get better middle-Eastern food anywhere else in Berlin that we've found. A couple of things to note, though: the area around feels unsafe, so we always go during daylight hours and keep a close eye on any valuables in bags or pockets. Also, this is described as a restaurant on Google, but is really more of a takeaway, with benches inside and out for customers to eat straight away. One of my favorite falafel places in Berlin, been coming here for more than a decade, place is open very late (till 5:00 on weekends last I checked).

They make great platters and very inexpensive. If you want it vegan, be aware that they normally add yogurt, but this can be substituted for mango sauce / hummus. The spicy chilli sauce used to be 3x as spicy as in other places, but now seems toned down. The nice guys often give out free tea, but don't expect it. The food is not super creative, but it is very good and very cheap.
