If you have not yet made the pilgrimage to EL Diablo, allow me—no, implore me—to be your humble herald, your trembling messenger, your culinary Cassandra (minus the tragedy), to inform you that you are missing not just a bar… but an experience.
Let’s begin, if you will, with the drinks. Ah yes, the drinks. Crafted not merely with alcohol and mixers, but with poetry, soul, and perhaps even a whisper of divine inspiration. Each cocktail arrives like a liquid sonnet in a crystal chalice, humming with perfect balance, teasing the senses with a bouquet so complex it borders on philosophical. I ordered the “Midnight Mirage”—a smoky mezcal blend kissed with elderflower and lime—and let me just say: if this drink were a person, I would marry it. If it were a planet, I would move there. If it were a religion, I would convert.
And just when I thought my senses could ascend no higher, they brought the nachos.
Oh, sweet merciful heavens, the nachos. Not the sad, limp tortilla triangles one might expect from a lesser establishment, but a masterpiece of engineering and edible architecture. Each chip is like a golden shard of heaven, sturdy and warm, blanketed in a melt of cheeses that seem to defy the laws of dairy. And the toppings? Layers upon layers—succulent pulled beef, spicy jalapeños that dance rather than sting, dollops of sour cream so ethereal they might have been whipped by angels, and guacamole so fresh I’m convinced the avocados were still singing in the tree this morning.
Every bite was a journey. A narrative. A revelation.
I wept.
Truly.
Not out of sadness, nor even joy, but out of sheer awe at how something as humble as nachos could be elevated to such celestial heights.
The staff, too, must be mentioned—nay, praised. They are not servers, but stewards of your joy. Guides through a landscape of flavor and feeling. Each recommendation was a gem. Each smile, sincere. They didn’t just serve—they cared.
In conclusion, I came seeking a casual drink and a bite to eat. I left questioning everything I thought I knew about flavor, texture, and happiness itself.
Five stars? No. This place deserves five...
Read moreI recently ordered from here on Uber Eats and… oof. Wish I could get all my money back for probably the most disappointing food I have ever ordered. I rarely ever write reviews but this was so bad that I feel I have to for the sake of my taco loving heart. How can they call this Mexican food 😭 I ordered Guac n Roll Tacos and paid 11.90 (more expensive than the eating at the restaurant, I know) and what I received was 4 taco tortillas with a small plastic carton of guacamole. Pico de gallo?? Coriander?? The bean puree?? Mayyyybe you could convince me that the small bit of brown soup mixed in the bottom of the plastic carton was „Bohnenpuree“ … or mayyyybe you could argue that the few tiny pieces of onion in the guacamole was the “Pico” but… COME ON 😭 this feels disrespectful to tacos. My sad heart ate these four flavorless tortillas with little enthusiasm and was left hungry and jaded. I had to cry and commit food sacrilege by adding sriracha to my soupy sad limp tacos because it was all I had at home and they were that disappointing.
Now… The „Loaded“ Veggie burrito. oh dear lord. If by loaded, you mean full of plain rice? Then yeah sure. but who wants to eat a mostly rice burrito wrapped in a tortilla??? A few veggies and a few beans and then NO sauce? no flavour. Burritos everywhere are crying for justice. Sadness…
I got extra guac and salsa picante on the side. Guac was fine but salsa? SALSA??? How dare you call this flavourless small cup of TOMATO JUICE salsa?? I know the Germans don‘t do spicey, but this was tragic.
And the churros… cold rings of small hard fried dough; I mean I guess it was kind of a churros but still way smaller, harder, and colder than any proper churro I have ever enjoyed.
Please, El Diablo, please, is this the best you can do? I want to find good Mexican food in Berlin so badly because my taco heart is in need. If you can give a second try, please invite me for a good taco or a burrito to make this better ♥️🌮🌯 I‘m very willing to try again, just not for the 33€ sad disappointment meal I got this time…. love, a...
Read moreI recently visited here and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between elegance and comfort, making it a great spot for both a casual evening out or a special celebration.
Cocktails The bar offers an impressive selection of handcrafted cocktails, each one a work of art. I tried the signature special and it was perfectly balanced—bold, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The bartenders clearly know their craft and are happy to recommend something based on your preferences.
Food Surprisingly for a cocktail bar, the food was just as exceptional. I ordered the tacos con polo and was genuinely impressed by the quality and presentation. The menu has a range of options from small plates to full meals, all thoughtfully prepared with fresh ingredients.
Service The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and well...
