Schillerklause — Restaurant in Berlin

Berliner Schnauze at its very WURST. This was honestly one of the WURST customer service experiences I’ve ever had in Berlin after 12 years of living here. My friend and I strolled in here after an evening at the theater, hoping to have a drink and a bite to eat. Charming and sweet inside, I was excited to have found a potential gem. I was learning up against the wall in my chair with my leg perched up towards my chest and the waitress came over and snapped at me to put my foot down. It wasn’t even on the chair! It was so inappropriate and rude, telling me how to sit in such a causal buffet restaurant! The nerve! Then the manager yelled at us because I had grabbed one grape and didn’t put it on my plate.

I feel pity for the aggressive women who work here that they have to be this mean nasty to their customers - they must have really sad, lonely and pathetic lives to be acting so nasty to others. I will never go...

There is something wrong, when the lukewarm "hot" chokolade costs almost the same as a big plate of food from the buffet... The food is okay considering the price, but it's way to cheep, and the food's quality is suffering from it. When all that has been said, the place is nice and personal and right by the theater. The story about the many different kinds of beer turned out to be untrue. You will not find a beer which you can't find at any...

Nachdem ich bestimmt 40 Jahre nicht mehr dort war konnte ich mich nicht mehr erinnern, wie es früher aussah. Jetzt ist es eine sehr gemütliche und stimmungsvolle Bierkneipe mit dunklem, engstehenden Mobiliar, was mir persönlich sehr gefallen hat. Die Getränkepreise sind sehr moderat (0,5 l Memminger 2,50 €, Gin-Tonic 4cl 4,90 €). Und es gibt ein kleines, witziges Buffet ( 1 Teller 5,50 €, All-you-can-eat 8,50 € mit Suppe und Desserts) mit vielen netten Kleinigkeiten zum Bier passend. Einige Plätze im Freien, kaum Verkehr, um die Ecke ist das Schiller-Theater und in 5 Minuten ist man am Ku-Damm. Die Bedienung passt Berlin-typisch zum Ambiente. Viele Stammgäste, reservieren ist nötig. Werde jetzt wohl öfter dort sein und im Garten mein Gin-Tonic...
