Coeliacs beware. Reactions for days after 'gluten free' meal. My experience at this restaurant is as follows: I was greeted by a waiter in German. Not too unexpected, seeing that it's Berlin. After apologising and trying to humbly ask if he spoke English, the waiter confirmed this somewhat unamused. I then tried to confirm whether they had gluten free food, explaining that I am coeliac. The waiter confirmed that this would be no problem, seeming somewhat annoyed. He then proceeded to walk about in the restaurant, and did not show me to a table. I suppose I should have left after this first impression, but was tired, and with Indian restaurants being my go to abroad, I went on to find a table. He then gave me a menu in German, and walked away. When I finally managed to get contact with him asking if he had a menu in English, he rolled his eyes and went back to where he had the other menus, all whilst whistling, and came back with some printed sheets of paper that he tossed hard onto the table, asking me what I would like to eat, now in a more strict tone. I then went on to explaining that I was coeliac, and was wondering if this was something that they could accommodate for. He ensured me that it would be fine and the food gluten free, but seemed to take easy on it, and asked me once again what I would like to eat. He said he could recommend a chicken dish, which I said I'd be happy to try. Whilst the meal was delicious, I had severe reactions lasting for days...
Read moreI was staying close to this restaurant and decided to explore the place for dinner. I had mixed experience. It is a good restaurant but I might not go there again.
Ambience is cozy. Waitress who welcomed was kind and efficient. She made sure to offer me a good table and then immediately took the order. I ordered a special thali. Which is a 3 course meal with a drink. The drink mango sekt was really good. Chicken Soup was also good. However the main meal was average. The lamb was ok. But tandoori chicken was full of sauce which I didn’t expect. I thought the tandoori chicken would be dry and grilled. But it was mixed with some random sauce and served. I didn’t like it that much.
Service waiter was totally laid back and careless. Firstly he did not bring the cutlery with the meal and asked me to use the spoon from soup. I don’t expect that level of service when I am visiting a restaurant. Then he forgot to bring the dessert. I waited 10-15 minutes after finishing the meal but no sign of dessert. Then I decided to pay and leave instead of requesting for the sweet dish.
I liked the concept of thali but the food quality need some improvement...
Read moreThe best Indian place in Berlin. Everything is so great, from the food to the services. My favourite dish is the chicken tikka butter masala, which its incredible taste make you cry. However, there are more amazing dishes that combine curry with lamb, chicken or amazing vegetables. Moreover, I have to mention the dall, which my friend indian and my friend Pakistani say that is the best fall in Berlin, the dall with the most original taste. And you have to buy always the battura, the best "bread" for eating Indian food. Furthermore, I would like to mention that the people working in this place are amazing, the best one is the guy from Nepal who with his jokes, he can make you smile even in your saddest day. I...
