Wiener Conditorei Caffeehaus — Restaurant in Berlin

Reasonable cakes and baked goods and it is pretty good if you are taking away stuff. The rating however is for service and the poor quality of some of the stuff that they provide. We did not like the coffee at all. The Camembert was a chewy tasteless lump and the person serving our table came around once every 35 mins! The ambience is good and the apple strudel was lovely. A croque Monsieur was pretty good and all salads were good too. An ice cream was good and the cakes were lovely. A chocolate pastry I got wasn’t chocolatey enough for me and the berry pastry wasn’t anything spectacular as well. All said, it’s an “Okay” place overlooking the corner of new west end - right above the u bahn station and has a definite old world feel that gets some of its stuff right but many are avoidable. The bakery is wonderful. However the breakfast was just ok. I expected our food to match the high prices. What we got was cheap breads, overcooked eggs tasteless cheese. It was food you would expect at McDonald's only worst due to the cost. Our waitress was rude and unhelpful she acted as if we were bothering her. She was unwilling to answer minor questions about the menu. She never checked back to see if we needed anything after we ordered alot of food. Very unprofessional I would give 5 stars for the cakes , bake goods and fresh baked bread. However the restaurant part needs a friendlier staff, better quality food with a decent cook for the prices. Will not go back. Too many good breakfast places that are friendly and value customers to waste my money...

Das Wiener Caffeehaus habe ich bei NeoTaste entdeckt. Es gibt mehrere Standorte und meine Cousine und ich waren in der Reichsstrasse. Vor Ort sieht man auf dem ersten Blick eine Bäckerei, weiter hinten gibt’s aber auch so ne Art Bistro/Restaurant. Man kann hier also nicht nur Brötchen und Kuchen kaufen, nein man kann hier auch sowohl frühstücken, als auch eine warme Mahlzeit zu sich zu nehmen. Meine Cousine und ich haben uns beide für das Vital Frühstück entschieden. Erstmal sind mir die unterschiedlichen Preise aufgefallen. Während es online um die 17 Euro gekostet hat, haben wir vor Ort 21 Euro bezahlt (dank NeoTaste nur einmal). Da ich mir die Speisekarte schon bei NeoTaste angesehen hatte und auch direkt online auf der Seite vom Wiener Caffehaus, hab ich vor Ort die Karte nur noch überflogen. Anstatt Rührei hatten wir plötzlich ein ganzes Ei und anstatt des Honigs gab es eine Avocadocreme. Ich war mehr als geschockt wofür ich 21 Euro zahlen sollte. Eine Hühnchenbrust, 1 x Margarine, kleine Schale Obst, Handvoll Müsli mit Joghurt, eine Portion Frischkäse, sowie Avocadocreme und zwei Mozzarellakügelchen und zwei kleine Tomaten, das Ei nicht zu vergessen. Hört sich zunächst viel an, aber betrachtet das Foto. Die absolute Frechheit dabei waren 4 Brötchen und 2 Scheiben Brot (für 2 Personen). Wofür soll ich bitte so viel Brot benötigen?? Anstelle meiner großen Schorle bekam ich eine kleine und wäre NeoTaste nicht gewesen hätte ich für das ganze Frühstück an die 50 Euro gezahlt.
