Music is awesome. But some clientele is really senior and racist if you are not white or don't blend among the blond ones. Also, service is unfriendly in the same way. The funny thing is that the singer was black, full of black and multicultural artists everywhere in the place by pictures, signs, and so on and still such primitive behavior. Well, i guess this is Germany. And i had been a few times here before making this review just to make sure and giving a chance to the place. It's such a strange vibe. Reminds me of the old times where you had "a" and "b" side during the apartheid period where on one side of the street you had jazz and blues and the other they copying and giving birth to rock & roll and vertents. The place is mixed, but the energy is the same if you are not white or a musician, aka the enterteiner. Who knows, know. The most friendly guy serving is the tall one. You guys should learn from him and apply to the whole place as a rule. Ps: You have Martin Luther King in a wall painting. This should be a point of start to educate both staff and clientele.
Additional info after the reply from the place saying my comment was "strange": I saw a guy arriving and trying to make a video of the band. A senior guy who seemed to know everyone there was really rude to him for no reason, while other people were taking videos and photos without any problem. The difference between the others making videos and this guy who just arrived? He wasn't blond or seemingly German. That was the only difference. And everyone at the same table didn't say sorry after what the guy did what seems to be normal for them. And this wasn't the first time I saw this happening in this place. Directly at the bar, the two guys also looked really unfriendly to non-German or non-blond people, except for the tall guy and the girl serving the tables. So you know exactly what I'm talking about and how your place and clientele act strangely for no reason. 'No reason' equals racism, xenophobia, and variants. This was clear to me after going a few times. You guys should enforce the culture of the place and not tolerate it as if it were something acceptable because it's not. It's always the same, happening to different people just because they are not locals. It's very clear. You can deny it or not see it, but it's there. And as I said: those who know (and suffer from it) understand. Germany is already having problems with it's own economy and a lack of skilled and regular workers because of this type of attitude being normalized. The birth rate is going down in the whole of Europe. You need these people. Treat them as you would like to be treated because without them (and the resources from where they came from), you are doomed. I'm just making this long statement because your place is full of historic figures that go against this shameful behavior, but I didn't see this being enforced by anyone there. One tip: The Hat Bar does this pretty well, and the energy and vibe there are excellent. Send someone to learn a bit and restore the energy and vibe to your place to be fully supportive so that anyone there feels at home. Plus they don't force and keep pushing people for money. This also is really shameful. Do not tolerate shameful behavior from staff or anyone visiting there. That's how we evolve as humanity because when we bleed, it's the same color. Just be a good human...
Read moreBad environment! Don't pick this - many better bars in Berlin. Our experience : We were made to pay for 5 beers , only when we ordered three. When we asked them to re-check, the waiter had the airs to say "we would have billed you for four other Jägermeisters you ordered". When we explained them that we really didn't order 5 beers and I also showed them the receipt (bill of what I ordered) , the dude got frantic and started saying that we could check the CCTV the next day. If we really didn't order, they would pay us back. When I refused to pay for something I haven't ordered, they resorted to creating a scene when my friend agreed to pay under pressure. I believe this to be an incident of pure ABUSE. I don't care about the reputation of this bar and before I can find someone from this bar disagreeing and giving a lame excuse to this review, let me assure you that I certify this exactly happened and have ATTACHED THE BILL / invoice for the two beers I paid at the bar. Later, we were billed for 3 more at the table instead of 1 extra. The date was 20th Dec 2024, I don't know who's fault this is but I have never come across such an abuse before in my life and before they can post a useless justification to brainwash all of you that this comment is fake or whatever, I invite them to check the CCTV video for the 20th December, 2024 20:17 hrs , so please check your dear CCTV footage from 20:00 until whenever we left the bar as a proof of the fraudulent behaviour you did with us. It will prove who is right. Not only will I ever visit this bar again but make sure everyone I know in Berlin gets to hear about this. I'm sure the the extra 9 euros we paid means more to them than their reputation and our respect. But the audacity to blame someone under the pretext of having had alcohol is fundamentally wrong. In addition to that, we tipped the band. And when we tipped with whatever we had , we were asked to tip five euros more. Interesting. The alcohol was bad, the service worse and the music was not that great. I'm sure people reading this don't care , they might still go here, but if this ever happens to you then I'm sure you'll realise the need to post in this way and discourage bad behaviour. Overall, we were forced to spend over 30€ when we only actually had a budget of 10€. Maybe in the whole bar, they found us to blame.
P.s. a guy who spent the whole evening with us there said something to them but he could have vouched for u and told them we only had to pay for 1 more. Maybe he did but it had no effect. Which just shows how they treat people in this...
Read moreI barely leave any reviews at all but I feel like I have to because I was very surprised that they treat customers like this. We were only sitting there for like 15-20 mins and were forced to pay tips. There was no live music nor concert. I didn’t even finish my drink and the male staff asked me to pay tips. I awkwardly but politely refused and said I would rather pay only for the drinks because I have never been asked or forced from any working staffs to pay tips that strongly before. He forcefully asked if he did something wrong. As we were only there for 15 mins or so as I mentioned, I found it strange to be asked like this. Also, there were only few people. Not crowded at all. I paid by card and there were several options I had to press on the machine. I didn’t know which one to choose so I asked him which one I have to press. His answer was ‘ask your boyfriend’. It’s unbelievable. Later on, he looked at us sideways and started to sarcastically laugh at us. The laughter/smile was rather scary. I asked if there’s any problems. His answer was ‘is it forbidden? I didn’t make any eye contact with you so there’s no problem’ and ‘I can’t even smile because they are so aggressive’. I wonder if he or they will take this review seriously as I see other people had the same experience. If they don’t want to listen to the customers, or take any feedbacks, it will only make the image of the bar worse. And even considering he has a personal issue for whatever reasons, it is not ok for the customers to understand the unbearable rude behavior and go through this kind...
