Don't visit. This is the lowest rating I ever gave for any place I visited: I was greatly disappointed by the visit of the collection, and felt that the emphasis on the collector's desire for each visitor to have their own experience and hence only provide basic information, serves as a comfortable justification to him for the lack of transparency and accountability where the artefacts come from and if they were aquired legally. It also does not explain why you are showing the genitals of young woman, saying that you are combining old art with contemporary, it just comes across as someone using their power to show with no context sexual content because you please to do so. This use of power and lack of care is highly triggering, and both the lack of transparency on the exhibited artefacts, combined with a sexist, predatory exhibit of naked young woman seems absolutely insensitive to the discourse on both matters. I left disappointed and as a woman, I felt sick to my stomach and icky after the visit. The inscenation of light, and the underground lake are truly beautiful and would be worth a visit, if you would not contribute financially to what I stated above. Including, a price of 22 € for such a visit is absolutely overprized, the Boros Collection or other places are truly worth such a price, and they do give you context about the artists. You can give context, and offer transparency, and still give a visitor the opportunity to use their imagination. This is...
Read moreNot very good. Tour guide s English was just about the level that you would understand what he is saying, but not good enough that you d feel comfortable enough to ask any questions. The introduction was difficult to understand, but he wouldn't guide us through the exhibitions anyways. Once we were in the exhibition there was no actual tour to speak of. We were basically just walking around by ourselves, which can be nice, but without text or information the objects were reduced to their material self. Which could be alright, but they were not just themselves, they were juxtaposed with Asian vagina and fruit resembling vagina. A white man's dream of Asia, I guess. I have been to Berghain, I have been to Boros Bunker and generally I have seen my fair share of derelict spaces. The architecture is impressive, but like I said, I have seen this kind of impressive. The collection itself is alright, the ethnological museums in the city do a better job of presenting art. It was an endurance test, even though the time spend looking at art was very short. All in all a waste of time and money. Rich people shouldn t curate their collections. Especially if they have such a fetishized idea of the cultures they...
Read moreThe guide informed us at the very beginning that the visit was not a guided tour, then in the first room after a short time for such a large collection, she told us to go to the second room. We were not informed at the beginning that the time for each room was specific, which meant we didn't see half of the collection. This ruined the whole experience, we are very disappointed, especially since the ticket for a 45-minute visit is kinda expensive. I think this kind of treatment of visitors is very rude and left us with a distaste. It's a shame because the place is beautiful, but the whole experience was disappointing. There is very little time for the first room compared to the number of pieces, and the whole point of the place being to meditate and experience art was destroyed by being rushed. In the rest of the halls, I stood around with nothing to do, as I had already seen everything and could have quietly returned to the previous one, but we were not allowed. Lack of consistency, because since this is not a guided tour, the time to visit the collection should be free, so that everyone could enjoy whole time of the visit in their own way. No respect for visitors,...
