It's irritating when a cash-only restaurant doesn't post on their door or menu that they are cash-only. As full time travelers, we try not to carry lots of cash for safety reasons. Also to keep track of our budget and to better prepare for tax time, having a digital record with my credit card expenditures helps me a lot. Plus I earn airline miles when paying with my card. The waitress told us they didn't accept credit cards so I had to dig through my bags to find the cash. Now I have to save the receipt and remember to add it to my expenses. Such a pain. This is not a mere ice cream cone. It was lunch for two people. What kind of restaurant in this modern age doesn't take credit cards? One who likes to report lower income for their own taxes, I'm guessing. So unprofessional and inconvenient for customers. They'd probably have many more customers if they took credit and debit cards.
Also the thai curry hardly had spice or flavor. They must have used too little curry paste for the German palate. But we are well-traveled eurasians who have been to Thailand many times and was missing authentic thai food. Very disappointing. I added some chili sauce to my meal but it ruined the thai curry flavor.
P.S. The owner should post their cash only policy on the door and the menu. 95% of the restaurants and businesses we've visited in Germany accept...
Read moreThere for this years wine fest again. The service and the food is just as good as ever. The owners are really fantastic very warm hearted people. Can't wait to see them again in 2025.
We are from Florida We were there for the wine fest this year, my wife is German and we have a number of friends we met at the DAS BINGER WINZERFEST We attended the festival 5 nights in a row and every night we ate dinner at Viet Thai. Unfortunately the restaurant was only open to take out but that was OK The people there are all very nice and the vegetable noodles were really great. Can't wait until our next visit to Bingen, that will be one of my first stops. Thank you again for the great service...
