La Sera Pizzeria / Eiscafè — Restaurant in Bingen am Rhein

We were there on Saturday 12.01.2019... a drizzly grey day in the Rheingau and Bingen. After wandering in the pedestrian zone for about an hour we decided to take a break and eat lunch. We peaked in the window and liked the decor and orderliness. Coming in the door we passed through the front dining area to the rear dining area, which was less crowded. The man who greeted us was very friendly and quite busy. He seemed to be the only one taking orders. After waiting a little bit he came by to take our drink orders. Andrea ordered the Lambrusco and I a glass of Regent, also a red. We ordered pizza's too, hers a sardine and anchovy and me a Pepperoniwurst with tomato sauce and cheese ..I asked for some fresh garlic also. Both of us loved our wine... and the pizza's were the best I have had anywhere. I highly recommend La Sera in Bingen. Nice place and nice interior decoration... tastefully...

Good location with a nice view but a poor experience during a visit on the 1st of June 2025. We decided to eat here due to the high reviews and acceptance of bank cards for payment. Italian restaurant (allegedly) however, not one worker spoke Italian. When the food arrived it was ok, but when it was time to pay, all the card machines were suddenly out of service. The waiter pointed us in the wrong direction to the “closest” ATM machine (this delayed our schedule) which resulted in us not making our train. When we finally arrived with cash, the waiter refused to print us a legitimate receipt. I lost my temper and threatened to call the Tax Police (this is what I do now when an establishment only takes cash….as most do this to evade paying taxes). Losing time, my train, and my temper results in a low rating, which is quite generous for this...

Worst experience ever, they refuse to take card payments because they “cannot take maestro or mastercard or visa” however german bankcards are also usually maestro or mastercard so that was a big fat lie (a couple next to us payed with a german bankcard wich had the mastercard simbol). They do not tell u that u allready pay 10% tip the food was decent but the staff is horrible they lie to your face. Overall dont go here it is horrible especially as a tourist la serra is the absolute worst restaurant we went to on our german roadtrip and that includes vosits to...
