Die Wache — Restaurant in Bonn

As a bar, it is a nice place to hang out with friends. However, I am giving a poor evaluation because of a racist comment made by the security guy of this bar, who came to me and a friend in front of the bar and told us "either you stay quiet and get inside the bar or join the monkeys (Affen) there". The monkeys/Affen he meant were the people in the bar Baila on other side of the street. This bar is mostly visited by people of color. The security guy was angry because, according to him, die Wache gets complaints about the noise caused by the guests of Baila. This episode happened two weeks ago - on Friday 30. July. Die Wache lebt leider mittlerweile nur noch von seinem Kultstatus und ruht sich seit Jahren darauf aus. Man muss den Flair schon mögen um sich überhaupt wohlfühlen zu können, denn es fängt bereits am Eingang mit dem unfreundlichsten Türsteher der Stadt Bonn an. Nicht selten wird man mit einem „Halt die Schnauze“, „Laber mich nicht voll“-Spruch angegangen, wenn man sich bei einer Zigarette unterhalten will. Die Toiletten sind seit Jahren kaputt und waren jedesmal verstopft wenn ich da war. Davon abgesehen hat man ab einem gewissen Pegel durchaus seinen Spaß in dem Laden, die Leute sind eigentlich immer friedlich, Ärger habe ich nie erlebt.
