TULIP - specialty coffee & brunch — Restaurant in Bonn

MPOV (Mom point of view): I have been their first ever customer and went to their grand opening today. The outlook and design when you first walk in is just stunning. They have got such a great taste when it comes to the decoration. So calm and bright and music is playing gently in the background, seating is modern and comfortable. The cafe offers an inside and outside seating area.

The menu is quite small but so far absolutely satisfying. Perhaps in winter they might consider adding Porridge to the menu. I have ordered the Granola and two Cappuccino. Customer's can order additional coconut Joghurt which I did. The coffee tastes like heaven (I am a Barista myself) and the Granola Bowl was extremely tasty. Personally it did fill me up just so, felt the portion could have been a bit bigger. Quality of the ordered choices has been excellent.

The cafe crew has been also very attentive, welcoming and friendly. Kids are welcome aswell. Have seen quite a few and have been there with my baby and toddler. What I have missed is a changing table and high chairs (maybe one of these modern pop up changing tables could be implemented).

I am always happy when there is a new coffee place opening in Bonn! Tulip didn’t disappoint. I was here on a Saturday morning, very close to 10 am (opening time) and it was already full. If you’re a group of 4 or more people, you can make a reservation. But for less, that is not offered.

For our first time at Tulip, we ordered coffee and cake. They were both quite good, especially the coffee and the vegan chocolate cake. The cream on the lemon tartelette was a bit too liquidy, but it tasted good nonetheless.

It took a little while for our order to arrive, especially considering we only ordered coffee and cake, but I can understand that on a busy Saturday morning. Prepared food could take even longer.

We were at the Tulip for a late brunch on a Sunday afternoon. It was well attended on the terrace outside. Coffee and food were nevertheless brought promptly. The food was very nicely presented and appetizing. Prices are absolutely average and fair. The staff was very friendly and nice. The interior is modern and bright. It is very comfortable to sit there. During the week, the seats can also be used to work with a laptop. I would have liked a little more choice in the food.
