Warm Sunday afternoon. Square in the front of Dom was packed with visitors. Very friendly service staff was fervently trying to get grasp on table occupancy situation: some tables were empty but no chairs, other table with lone chair and reservation sign. Multiple visitors wanted to sit, but there was no option and service stuff was preoccupied. We are lucky ones. Seated and very soon menu was in our hands. Drinks arrived quickly - very proper made aperol spritz. Then soup: Chanterelle cream had substance but somehow is missing taste, mushrooms were lost in cream and flour. We were attracted by the interesting menu for the day, but learned too late that the ingredient (eel) for the dish we most wanted had not been delivered. Then we waited for about 40 minutes for our hors d'œuvre to arrive. The chef impressed us by coming to apologize and he told us the wine would be on the house. The main course took another half hour, although there were very few guests at that hour. And at the end of the meal, the waiter charged us for two of the three glasses of wine. We were in Brandenburg for a week and ate here twice. We probably could have done it a few more times. The service was really attentive, fast and friendly. The food was great quality, arrived quickly, extra points for the great local Bier von Fass.
