Konditorei Café Stecker - Tradition seit 1908 — Restaurant in Bremen

This café initially charmed me with its delightful decor and tempting pastries. However, my experience quickly soured due to the absolutely disgusting service. I was repeatedly ignored by the staff, who seemed to prioritize German customers over me. They even pretended not to see me, which was incredibly insulting.

As a first-time visitor to Germany, I was hoping for some guidance on the different types of biscuits and cakes. Instead, I received unhelpful and dismissive responses like "it is a biscuit?" when I asked for clarification. This is unacceptable treatment for any paying customer, let alone someone new to the country.

The only saving graces of this café are the delicious food and the lovely ambiance. But sadly, those positive aspects were completely overshadowed by the staff's discriminatory behavior and blatant disregard for my presence.

If you're looking for a café where you'll be treated with respect and courtesy, I would strongly advise against this one. While the sweets may be tempting, the sour taste left by the staff's actions will linger long...

We came around 16:40 , bought 2 cakes and said we will take more later to go. There were many cakes to choose from. 20 min later, I could see they started removing the cakes, and not even asked us which would we take to go before they remove the cakes. We were left with only 4 options to choose from and waitress rudely said that’s all we can choose from, even though they had more options 10 min ago. And this happens 45 min before closing. But she was in a hurry to go out and smoke cigarettes. They lost us as clients, and potential clients that we could recommend. Horrible service, super unprofessional and unwelcoming....

This is very poor effort from the people in charge. We ordered very common options as it is usually the safest course whilst in germany. We made a mistake to come here. They use a vending machine for your coffee. Poor taste for a place which is so old. The cake quality was very very standard infact it actually tasted like the place was baking on a budget. I've eaten better out of lidl. No real flavour or elegance to the bite. I feel for this sort of place they should take much more care in their quality. The lady cutting the cake with the hair styled like a gentleman was not...
