One year ago I had a very unpleasant experience at this place, which I wrote about (below). A week ago I decided to give it another try and see if the arrogance of the people in reception has come down. I truly believe we should support our local restaurants, all of us. Unfortunately, it was not the case. Moreover, the appetizer I ordered left a lot to be desired, as the picture shows. Tartar without toast and without butter? I had to ask for both. The tuna was not fresh. Q1 is a cozy place, in best location. But Bremen has other spots that do respect quality, even after the pandemic, and which are worth a visit.
Although I have been here many times, I had a terrible experience yesterday evening, when I spontaneously decided to have my birthday dinner there. We were treated with arrogance and given 60 minutes at one table: “You can get a table, but you must finish in an hour”. When I said it was my birthday he did not even blink, nor congratulated me. Which in Germany is considered extremely rude. The posh employee we talked to obviously did not understand that in was a huge compliment for them that someone decided to celebrate there, despite the high prices they have (I was carrying flowers, so it was clearly no lie) So we left and we shall never return. Read moreIt must be a chain, because the steak preparations were consistently incorrect regarding the temperatures, and the service was simply too inconsistent. The bill does not even nearly match the experience, but I concede that the quality of the beef was indeed quite high.
Would I have known that their medium rare is my medium, that their blue is my rare, I would have ordered differently. It would have been considerate if, when I requested the meat as raw as possible, they specified temperatures or indicated the preparation style somehow.
Edit: The timely response from the owner is much appreciated. To clarify, steak restaurants in the US follow a worse standard when it comes to steak internal temperatures. I think responsiveness is important, so I will try the place again and update my review when that time comes. I am all for annulling inaccurate first impressions ;)

First of all, our waitress was super fun, really nice girl, her name is Celine. Thank you for your service last night!
The food got there relatively quick, and it was really tasty. There were some really good sounding dishes with unique flavour combos. I got the salmonfilet with a sauce based on dijon-mustard, asparagus and potato rosti. My boyfriend got the schnitzel with fries, compot and cucumber salad.
We also got a dessert, the creme brulee with plum ice cream. It was a pretty big creme brulee and the plum ice cream was something you’ve never tasted before, but a very nostalgic flavor, we really loved it!
Overall, really good service, food and music....
