This restaurant is a rising star!

Some dishes here definitively deserve a 15-16 Gault Millau rating! The young but already quite experienced chef Justin Schmick conjures dishes that stimulate all your senses: creative, appealing, and perfectly balanced.

Justin Schmick not only uses top quality products, but like a magician he combines different flavours in a way that they all enhance each other, thus yielding to a unique gastronomic experience you will never forget.

Because we have been there three times in a row, my girlfriend didn't want to have the same vegetarian dish again. No problem: just ask for something else and the magician Justin Schmick will create something new which is not on the menu (see photo). This is what I call professionalism!

With regard to wines, just ask the sommelier to choose the wine that suits the best to each dish, you won't be disappointed! (they have excellent open wines, you don't need to order a whole bottle).

Same as for the ingredients in the dishes, the wine and the food will enhance each other. A wine that is perfect alone or with a specific dish won't necessarily suit to another one. This is the job of a sommelier and at Dock IV, they know their job for sure.

For me this is the best restaurant in Bremerhaven and one of the top ones in the region. It will definitely stay my first choice in Bremerhaven and I look forward to seeing Justin Schmick in his first Michelin star restaurant, wherever his path leads.

Service was terrible. Our primary waiter was nice enough and helpful at first. After our food came we didn’t see him again for well over an hour. After tracking someone down (twice), in an attempt to order coffee and get out leftovers wrapped, an angry busser came and loudly stacked our plates declaring that our silverware wasn’t positioned correctly to cue the servers we were done. He realized we were foreigners and loudly lectured us on how the practice of placing utensils on your plate was “universal.”(this is not that common in the States). We tried to talk over him to order our coffee but they never brought them to us. I saw other tables equally frustrated at the lack of attention. Food was so-so and way over-priced for what it was. The salad was literally swimming in dressing and the fish was unremarkable. Would not recommend primarily because of the terrible service and pissy busser but the food was nothing to write home about either, especially considering the...

Ich war heute Mittag mit meiner Frau und unseren 3 Kindern unterwegs, Restaurant sieht gut aus, Platz im Aussenbereich gefunden, Bestellung aufgegeben, die Bestellung wurde am Platz nochmals aufgezählt und am Ende von mir bestätigt. Bis dahin alles gut. Dann fing es an, eine Flasche Wasser gebracht, obwohl 2 bestellt wurden, kein Beinbruch, 2. Kommt nach. Wasser wurde vom Kellner eingeschenkt, dabei ging einiges an Wasser daneben, keine Entschuldigung, noch ein Tuch vom Kellner, auch darüber hätte ich noch hinweg geschaut. Tag war ja schön, Laune noch gut und mein Sohn 12 Jahre schenkt ja ähnlich Wasser ein. Essen kommt, das gesamte Essen? Nein, mein Gericht wurde vergessen. Meine Laune senkt sich dramatisch. Einige Zeit später, mein Sohn fertig mit dem Essen, kommt der Kellner mit Brot und Aufstrich, ich sage zum Kellner, dass das Brot viel zu spät kommt aber egal , kostet ja nichts. Ich mache den Kellner darauf aufmerksam, dass meine Laune gegen Null geht und meine Familie schon fertig ist mit essen, darauf der Kellner, "nee, sind nicht alle fertig " ich sage zum Kellner, dass mein Essen ja noch nicht da ist und ich auf so eine Art der Diskussion keine Lust habe, Kellner gibt an, dass das Essen gleich käme und er mehr nicht sagen könne. Kurz darauf kommt auch mein Essen, meine beiden Töchter sind derweil natürlich auch schon fertig, meine Laune und Appetit sind schon mal gegangen. Trotzdem gegessen, mit mittlerweile Wut im Bauch. Rechnung bitte, kommt gemeinsam mit der Rechnung vom Nachbartisch, die ca eine 1/4 Stunde später die Rechnung haben wollte, echt unverschämt. Ich erkläre meinen Unmut dem Kellner der kassiert, ist ein anderer . Dieser entschuldigt sich, gibt an mich zu verstehen. Das ist nett von Ihm, mir aber viel zu wenig, Qualität geht anders, Tag war...
