Where to start... We went here for a beer and decided to try some food. Ok, the food was absolutely terrible, it was just frozen food heated up a bit, still cold parts in my steak and my girlfriend went for the sausage which was the cheapest kind from the local store. Alright we didn't expect anything good. The view was nice and it would probably be a good place if you just order a beer or a cup of coffee.

We thought, okay classic turist trap with a view. Let's just go. We asked to pay and the waitress very aggressively gave us the check without saying a word. Ok, we waited for 10 minutes trying to get eye contact also calling her when she went by our table because we wanted to pay with a card. She didn't come, so we simply went to the bar, payed and left.

Holy cow, that was apparently not something to do here. This lady ran after us after we left and told us to come back which we did calmly. She then started yelling about that we can only pay her directly and shouldn't go to the bar to pay. We told her we waited for a while and just payed at the bar. She was very angry and when her colleague tried to calm her down saying we already payed, she just started screaming all kinds of German swearwords, while waving with her arms signaling us to get out. Very embarrassing for the place.

I've never ever tried anything like this, but to be honest it was a hell of an experience and something I will always remember. We just laughed it off because it was so comical, so if you are looking for an experience, this might be the place to go while looking at the beautiful castle behind this...

It started off well! We ordered a glass of wine each and tried to order tap water which apparently isn’t a thing or they had no idea what we were asking for. My husband and the schnitzel and potatoes and really enjoyed it and I had the potato soup which was great and hit the spot! It is a generous bowl. After that nobody checked if we were enjoying it or clear our plates once we were done! They were clearing other tables where the people had left? I was going to order dessert but nobody even looked at our table and I shouldn’t have to wave them down! There was a lovely couple also shaking their heads and had to wave to order! There were 2 or 3 servers so no excuse. We ended up going inside to the bar to pay because we didn’t feel like waiting around any longer. They had the nerve to ask for a tip! In our weeks of travelling in Germany and France this is the 3 time we have been asked! We have eaten out a lot so this is a rare ask during our travels but shame on them! We declined of course! Too bad they can’t work on their customer service and being more friendly. We did our absolute best with a German menu and google translate and said please and thank you in German. Too bad they started off nice up until we got our foods and then the...

Worst experience ever. I order a vegan burger, they brought me a meat burger. Thankfully I noticed because of the smell. I told them to check if it was the vegan burger, the waitress came back and told me , in a very rude way I must say, that I order a. Meat burger. I told her I am vegan and that's not what I ordered. She started talking to me in German and I told her I do not speak German, only English. And she yelled 'it will take time' to which I said that's fine. She brought the other burger several minutes later, and I asked her to double check is this vegan? And she asked what? And I said this is the vegan burger? And she looked confused as if she didn't understand what I was saying. And I said VEGANER BURGER and she said yes sure and left. I did not trust her and i look inside and it looked like chicken and smelled like chicken. Of course I only ate a bit of the bread and left everything. They need to take dietary requirements more seriously and not be disrespectful with customers. I will...

Fantastic restaurant inside the Cochem Castle complex. Stopped into this restaurant after taking the castle tour and we are so glad we did. Not only are you able to have a wonderful view of the city, because you can choose to sit inside or outside, but the food was wonderful. We had several dishes but the ones we loved the best were the potato soup and potato pancakes, which were to die for. The only drawback to this location it can get very crowded during the day and the outside eating area can have a lot of smokers, which can be overwhelming at times. However, we are still very happy to have stopped in for a bite and the prices were quite reasonable. Would have taken some better pictures but the food looked too good to just let it sit there for a photo.
