Typical German Brauhaus food with fresh Gaffel Kölsch. Not sure why they chose the - for Cologne - rather awkward name Bayenthaler Wirtshaus. Sounds more like southern Germany. Bayenthaler Weetschaff would be much better for instance. Sad also that the DOM Kölsch tradition was changed to Gaffel. This corner Weetschaff belonged to the DOM brewery before they closed down this location. DOM is our Bayenthaler Kölsch. Gaffel is maybe better but who cares after the 10th Kölsch, right 😉. Food was nice but I would have hoped for a side salad or some veggies with the meter long Bratwurst. Nice presentation though. Straight and not spiraled and on a wooden board. We also had Schnitzel Wiener Art and thick Kotelett from the Eifel Pig, both good quality. So all in all a recommendation. Certainly nice to see that corner in operation again. Good luck

I had a spectacular Meter sausage today, it’s my first visit to you Wirsthause, and it was quite special. A delicious tasty and meaty sausage, quality meat, well seasoned and cooked. When it came to our table I smiled and quietly laughed, it was huge! I tried my best to finish it off, but failed to do so, my belly was too full, a happy smiling guest left your business today. A big thank you to your hard working team, and the person in the kitchen who made it, cooked well and with some care.

We are tourists, and we were passing on our way to the supermarket. Called in and had a few beers and Flammekueche to put us on. Very glad we did as the deutche-pizzas were great and the meat meals looked great. Friendly waitress spoke great English and the place felt friendly. A good contrast to the more touristy city centre pubs.
