Farang Café — Restaurant in Cologne

Ok place. We went there as a bigger group,our order got mixed up and additional scrambled eggs arrived afterwards - with additional ones that we didn’t order and needed to pay for them regardless. Lady that served us was lovely though. I’m not OK with obligatory tip counted on the card machine - we paid more for additional food we didn’t order and a tip for messing up the order 😖 food was good and the outdoor seating area had blankets,which was a nice addition

EDIT: order was placed by English mother tongue speakers - given that the waitress was not a native English speaker but communicated fluently, it’s understandable that small misunderstandings could happen. We politely stated that the extra order was for two portions, not three. This cafe has amazing reviews but this was a long time ago. Walked there for 35 mins. Ordered two classic sandwiches and added avocado, the egg in the sandwiches was raw and optional avocado was 4 tiny slices. I opened a picture of how their sandwich looks on google maps reviews with a half of avocado and the staff said “How do you know how much avocado they paid for, maybe they ordered double avocado. This cafe definitely doesn't deserve its rating of 4.9 . It is really small and loud due to the mixer running non stop for the fluffy pancakes. The pancakes are good but we waited for about an hour for them. You pay right after your order so you have to stay till they are ready to serve you.

So imagine that you have to sit very uncomfortably in a very small and loud cafe for an hour to enjoy some pancakes. It is just not worth it. To me it felt like one of many cafes how really try to have a good Instagram account and nothing more.

Not cosy, high prices and mediocre service....
