Five Guys Burgers and Fries Köln Schanzenstr. — Restaurant in Cologne

I gave the joint another chances and the food was much better, service more ogranised and relaxed so i guess the review below can be understood as something with some hicups at the start..

Protip: Order fries with no salt, it tastes much better.

-----‐--------------------------------------------- I went to this 5 guys with very high expectations as I already knew the chain from London.

I ordered a double Cheeseburger, with big freis (pikant) and Coke. Everything large... in the hindsight a single patty burger, small freis and coke would have also done the trick.

Firstly, get ready to enjoy because the Fries because they were on point and simply amazing. However that meal size was massivvee.. i mean must have been like a kg of potatoes. I like to eat a lot too but somehow this meal nearly tested my limit.

The drinks were interesting toi with the 100 possible combinations that one could try out.. but lets be real whats your highscore? Really over the top but hey everyone like to be spoilt once a while.

Coming to the burger i found the patty a bit dry from inside and the burger was kinda well done. I think a burger chain that takes pride in their product could do a better job. I was personally a bit disappointed. But since in my experience, it was just one visit, im not sure if they are always like this or just once in a bluemoon (when things just tend to go wrong)..

The price finally i felt was a bit heavy. I found the price a bit expensive for the fact its self service without proper cutlery etc.

All an all in: -1* for the price and "dry" patty in that order.

I could probably see myself go there next time but maybe just for a quick...

This made me appreciate the mess food from work. Literally the worst burger joint in cologne. To start: it is on par with like 3-5 star restaurant pricing and quadruple of McD. The food is hilariously small. The fries are worse than McD, which is a feat in itself. I get better and larger burgers for 1/4 price at the Athena grill 2 miles away. 40 bucks for 1.5 fries packs and two...

Ich war mit meinem Mann an einem Sonntagabend vor Ort. Das Restaurant War kaum besucht, sodass die Wartezeiten auf das Essen sehr kurz waren. Wir haben einen großen Cheeseburger, zwei kleine Cheeseburger, zwei Beilagen und zwei Getränke bestellt. Mich hat der hohe Preis schon leicht schockiert. Rund 49 Euro für zwei Personen?! Und das in einer Fast-Food Kette..

Naja.. Der Geschmack des Burgers hat mich überzeugt. Es ist geschmacklich zwischen den gängigen Fastfood Ketten und "richtigen" Burgerläden. Was mir nicht geschmeckt hat, waren die Fice Guys Pommes, da sie total versalzen waren und ich mag eigentlich salziges Essen.

Auch hier wird leider auf Einwegverpackungen zurückgegriffen, obwohl wir vor Ort gegessen haben. Das ist ja dieses "typisch amerikanische", allerdings alles andere als nachhaltig, was mich persönlich inzwischen echt stört.

Insgesamt würde ich den Laden nicht empfehlen, da ich den Preis von 50 Euro für zwei Personen für Fast-Food zu hoch finde und mir das Konzept nicht gut gefällt, da einfach zu viel Müll produziert wird. Geschmacklich ist es okay, aber würde dann doch lieber ein Burgerrestaurant bevorzugen, statt eine...
