Holm Kaffeerösterei Café — Restaurant in Cologne

Holm Coffee in Cologne is not so much a café as it is a caffeinated dimension where espresso shots hit harder than Monday mornings. You walk in and instantly feel that someone here really knows their coffee ...not the “Instagram latte art” kind, but the “I will weigh your beans to the milligram because your taste buds deserve precision” kind.

The place has that calm, minimalist Nordic vibe that makes you wonder if you should take up poetry or start a sustainable design brand. Every cup feels like it was brewed after a quiet consultation with the coffee gods, possibly on a mountaintop.

The staff? Ridiculously friendly. The kind of people who can explain the origin of your beans without making you feel like you’ve just failed a barista certification exam. They will happily answer your questions ... even the awkward “So… what’s the smoothest but also punchiest coffee you’ve got?” kind.

And the pastries? Criminally good. They’re the sort of pastries you tell yourself you’ll just “have a bite” of, then suddenly you’re Googling “Holm Coffee pastry calories” like it will undo what just happened.

In short, Holm Coffee is the spot where caffeine meets craftsmanship, and your productivity skyrockets .. right after you’ve sat there for an hour staring out the window feeling...

No respect for a customer and their individual needs despite great coffee. Profoundly rigid which at least for me is not professionalism-professionalism is adaptive! We used to come here nearly every day and have a coffee/matcha since years. I have always respected the silly laptop rule, no matter how ridiculous (people work on their phone for hours!). Today I‘ve been asked in 8th month of pregnancy, half an hour before closing to stand up with my warm beverage and squeeze my belly between bunch of people at the window seats because only those places can be used to this purpose. Just for opening my laptop to check something. I am truly disappointed and I wonder how this attitude can be tolerated on a long run. This is conservative-school like atmosphere, rules are rules…I will look for another customer...

Ich liebe dieses Café! Das ist meine Komfortzone in Köln. Auch wenn ich in einem anderen Teil der Stadt wohne, bin ich immer bereit, dorthin zu fahren, weil dieser Ort mich glücklich macht.

Das Personal ist super höflich, freundlich und hat einen großartigen Sinn für Humor! Trotz aller negativen Kommentare würde ich diesen niemals zustimmen.

Der Kaffee ist mega! Ich meine, manche Leute meckern über den Preis, aber kommt schon, Leute, das ist ein handwerklich hergestellter Kaffee. Wenn ihr etwas Billigeres wollt, geht bitte zur nächsten Bäckerei. Dieser Ort ist für das Erlebnis gedacht.

Und als großer Kaffee-Fan kann ich sagen, dass dieser Ort nicht nur das beste Café in der ganzen Stadt ist – in ganz NRW findet man nichts Vergleichbares.

Nachdem ich dieses Café entdeckt habe, höre ich auf, andere Cafés zu besuchen. Und wenn ich es doch tue (was sehr selten passiert und sich immer wie Fremdgehen anfühlt 😃), bin ich jedes Mal enttäuscht.

Meine größte Liebe gilt nicht nur dem Kaffee, sondern auch den Käsekuchen (ich hoffe, nach dieser Bewertung finde ich noch welche). Sie sind fantastisch! Sie wechseln sie von Saison zu Saison, aber ich schwöre, ich habe noch nie etwas wie den Käsekuchen von Holm probiert. Die Sommeredition war unglaublich. Jetzt gibt es den Kürbiskäsekuchen für die Herbstsaison.

Er ist großartig, aber für mich war die Füllung ein wenig zu süß. Der Kürbiskäsekuchen vom letzten Jahr war, zugegeben, etwas besser. Aber ich denke, das ist Geschmackssache. Wenn man ihn nur etwas weniger süß machen würde, wäre er perfekt!

Aber der Vanille-Käsekuchen mit Passionsfrucht wird für immer in meinem Herzen bleiben.
