Four years ago I gave them 5 stars, now they barely make it to 3.
I have worked in gastronomy for more than 20 years, and Peruvian is on my top 3 favorites cuisines — I really know Peruvian food, I also worked in one of the best Peruvian restaurants with Peruvian people who also have restaurants in Peru.
I have been to Tigermilch about 4 times in the span of 4 years. Sadly they have really lowered there standard. Just let’s begin with the fact that Tiger Milch (leche de Tigre) is the juice of the ceviche; which should be so delicious that you end up drinking it at the end. But the citrus they are using is really bad quality; if you know and you have tried different times Peruvian food, you would certainly know they sadly are serving a bad ceviche.
As for the other dishes I was not surprised either. If you don’t know Peruvian food and you want a nice atmosphere, it will be decent. And better if your expectations are not high. But if you I know Peruvian good and you expect something good, sadly Tigermilch is at the moment not the place to go.
I’m sorry to say because it used to be one of my favorite places to go and recommend. I will give it another chance in the future and if is equally bad as now, won’t go...
Read moreWorst peruvian ever! Ceviche overcooked with a massive amount of lemon. It tasted and looked like a lemon soup. Lomo Saltado with meat that tastes like an old mentos. Sauce OK, missed the fries that go with the original recipe. Aji de Gallina: Uneatable. The chefs fails a deconstruction of the Peruvian classic. Oily and with an award rotten egg smell. Picture attached, judge by the looks and compare to other pictures in the web. For the non Peruvian readers, please note that green oily thing on top ain't part of the real recipe. Creativity is good when it makes sense. Oil on a cheese based sauce doesn't make any sense. Anticuchos, similar to lomo saltado like chewing gum. I order lots of dishes hoping for a marvelous Peruvian night I was wrong and I regret of experiencing Tiger milk. Don't recommend...
Read moreThe Pisco Sour is very tasty. Balanced and smooth flavor. I like it a lot. We ordered one crispy dish (the manioc fries) and all the warm dishes except the beef heart and dishes using seafood. I loved the manioc fries which tasted like potato but more dense and with slight sweetness. The rest of the dishes all had nice flavor but my favorite was the one in the middle of the picture called Uchucuta Steak. The green sauce was very delicious. However, the price is a little high (almost €69 for two people) and the portion is not so big. It’s like tapas. The staff told us for two people 5-6 dishes would be fine. It’s enough for not feeling hungry but if you’re a person who is used to big portion food, then you might not be...
