Restaurant & Hotel Gutshof Hauber — Restaurant in Dresden

My wife, daughter and I spent four pleasant nights here at 105 Euros/night (including the breakfast buffet). The room and bathroom were clean, modern and quiet (except for the loud access door from the stairs to the hallway). The hotel is near a busy street but situated such that there is no street noise. ||||The roll-away bed had an ancient, worn out mattress, but the staff replaced it with a new, firm mattress. The breakfast buffet had a good variety of items. Not extensive but more than adequate. In addition, there is a lovely bakery at the entrance to the hotel courtyard.||||The hotel is eight KM east of Dresden. The tram stops close to the hotel and takes only a few minutes to get to the altstadt. The Elbe River bike path is only 300 meters away. We rented bikes from the hotel and had a pleasant ride to/from and within Dresden. There is plenty of room within the hotel courtyard for parking (at no extra charge).||||The staff was helpful. In particular they gave us good information on taking the train to Meissen (we concluded it was easier than driving) and how best to access the dramatic, towering rock formations in Swiss Saxony (go to Stadt Wehlen, park by the river, and walk about 2-3 KM through the woods to Bastei and return on the bike path by the river). Wir waren für einen Kurzurlaub zum Radeln hier. Die Lage ist top, denn der Elbradweg ist unweit entfernt. Aber leider müssen wir einige Kritikpunkte ansprechen.

Bei Ankunft hätten wir eine eher herzlichere Begrüßung erwartet, die aber leider nicht sehr freundlich ausfiel, da lächellos. Es gab auch keinerlei Tipps bezüglich Radeln, nur auf konsequente Nachfrage, oder zu der Straßenbahnanbindung, oder auf die Baustelle zum Fahrradschuppen. Wobei wir gleich anmerken wollen, dass ein Hinweisschild aufgestellt werden müsste, dass man sich darauf einstellen kann. Es gibt auch ältere Menschen, die vielleicht schneller mal umknicken und sich verletzen. Auch auf die Kante am Schuppen wird nicht hingewiesen. Man muss erst drüber stolpern.

Dann hatten wir ein Zimmer, sicher im unrenovierten Trakt, da es doch recht unsauber war. Auf dem Laken waren Haare, zwischen Bettkopfteil und Nachttischschrank waren staubige Spinnweben, die Fenster wurden vor sehr langer Zeit geputzt samt Fensterbänke, im Bad war der Seifenspender am Waschbecken total dreckig hinten an der Wand, die Fliesen hinter der WC-Bürste waren auch schmutzig.

Durch die schmutzigen Fenster mit Spinnweben in Massen hatten wir auch täglich recht große Spinnen im Zimmer. Zum Glück haben wir keine Spinnenphobie! Mein Mann hat sie dann rausgetan.

Schön wäre es auch gewesen, wenn wir Kleiderhaken für die Jacken gehabt hätten und einen Spiegel für den letzten Blick vorm Gehen - nicht nur im Bad. Ein Schuhanzieher wäre auch nützlich.

Weiter wird geschrieben, dass genug Parkplätze vorhanden sind. Wir haben nur am Anreisetag einen Parkplatz gefunden. Wenn man abends weggefahren ist, musste man bei der Rückkehr auf Suche gehen. Das geht doch nicht. Die Autos, die dann da standen, waren Restaurantgäste. Sind sie mehr wert als die Übernachtungsgäste?

Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr "übersichtlich". Die Eier doch etwas zu hart gekocht und sicher nicht vom Hühnerhof, denn das Eigelb war recht blass. Man wurde satt, aber man erwartet als Buffet doch etwas mehr zur Auswahl. Und außer der täglichen Frage nach der Zimmernummer gab es keine Kommunikation mit der Servicekraft. Weder die Fragen, ob man gut geschlafen hat oder ob man eine Radtour geplant hat oder ob man einen besonderen Wunsch hat, wurden gestellt, noch wurde den Gästen ein Lächeln gegeben.

Sehr schade! Das Gesamtobjekt ist äußerlich sehr einladend, aber leider bei genauer Betrachtung ohne sauberen modernen...
