Stadtstrand-Düsseldorf am Robert-Lehr-Ufer (Theodor-Heuss-Brücke) — Restaurant in Dusseldorf

We found this riverside bar late-morning and had a wonderfully relaxing time. There is a mixture of modern deck-chairs and lounge beds available to sit and wat h the world go by. The mellow music that was played over the speakers created a really chilled atmosphere that allowed us to unwind, chat, read, and even have a short nap!! There were plenty of drink options available, rhanging rom coffee to alcohol-free beer, and all were reasonably priced and the service was really fast and friendly. There was a burger stall but we didn't have any food so cannot comment on this....

Ein guter Ort zum Verweilen. Wenn abends die Kerzenlichter auf den Tischen verteilt werden, im Hintergrund chillige, elektronische Musik läuft und man den Blick auf den Rhein und das Löricker Ufer schweifen lässt, kommt angenehme Urlaubsstimmung auf. Entspannt.

Die allseits geäußerte Kritik ist im Grunde Kritik der Ahnungslosen und denjenigen, die immer meckern.

Die Container sind pastellfarbig, wirken nicht deplatziert, sondern städtisch, auf möglichst freundlich getrimmt. Die Toiletten sind umsonst, dafür die Getränkepreise höher: immerhin 4,50€, aber wofür : für das ohnehin teure Biobier Lammsbräu in 0,5 Liter Flaschen. Das kleine 0,3er Schumacher kostet 3,30€ der Wein 5€, das eigens für den Stadtstrand gebraute Pale Ale satte 5€. Wer dort nichts kaufen möchte, bringt seine Getränke selber mit. So einfach, so gut.

Nein, es gibt kein Sand, nur Rasen. Und das, was vorher klar war, dürfte kein derartiges Entsetzen hervorrufen.

Was auffällt : Abends um 21h sind die Currywurstbude und der Foodtruck bereits geschlossen, eher ärgerlich, nur der Crepe-Stand hat geöffnet. Die im Blickfeld gestellten Müllcontainer müssen ebenfalls nicht sein. Nervig sind die im unteren Bereich vorbei ratternden Prollautos und knarrenden Motorräder.

Es ist erst der vierte Tag, noch genug Zeit zum Feinjustieren. Für den Start eine nette, freundliche Atmosphäre, nicht alles ist perfekt, aber manche Kritik völlig übertrieben.

Update, Sommer 2020: Der Stadtstrand ist sehr gut frequentiert und aufgehübscht. Dank Corona lechzen offenbar viele Besucher nach...
