Can’t comment on food, as I didn’t get a chance to eat. Spoke waitess on entry regarding a table , she was polite & said would check, then a rude man with large belly wearing blue, white & pink horizontal stripes shirt, came up & told us no & leave. Very rude & direct even by German standards. Could see tables available, perhaps they were reserved, but there was no need to be a rude individual ( could describe this better but I would be stooping to this rude person level) obviously doesn’t want customers, a simple no we a fully booked without being rude. We attended dinner with my mother who is a German citizen. She translated our orders to prevent confusion and make things easier for the waitress. She was rude. Took orders from tables out of order and ignored ours. Eventually she took our order but when we order from the kinder menu, she told us what our children wanted to eat and wouldn't place the order. We asked for the food to come out for the children early but instead the food ordered for the kids never came. We ended up splitting the adult orders from the table to feed...

Beautiful restaurant. This place is the Cheer's of Eltville. My German is poor but you can tell through the customer interactions that everyone knew each other here. Prices are great and this place is a short walk from the castle. I had a cappuccino and an out of this world Apfel Strudel. The beer and wine menu's have local selections, and there is comfortable shaded outside seating. Great German atmosphere, laid back, they don't rush you here.
