Jean, Eltville » My (last) visit: Dec 2023 » Total score: 4.7/5 – very good » The gourmet restaurant completely fulfilled my very high expectations: Very good food at a constantly high level in an almost exclusively classic style (bar the dessert, which I would describe as modern). I liked all the accompanying wines very much and found two or three of them even outstanding. In my view the price-performance ratio was excellent.

What an amazing experience at this lovely, intimate restaurant. My dining partner ordered the gourmet set menu with 5 courses and I ordered the seasonal set menu with 5 courses. Each dish was finally balanced, beautifully plated, and extremely delicious. I also ordered the wine pairing, which included a nice variety of local Rheingau wines. During the summer, the seating is outside on a beautiful patio covered by a canopy of trees. When we were there, the restaurant only seated about 10 tables and the service and quality of food was clearly tailored to that intimate audience. We (3) went to the restaurant in May 2022.

One had the 4 course gourmet menu accompanied with wines, one had the 3 course gourmet menu (with minor changes) and one had a main course.

Food/Service: The ingredients was generally great and one of our favourites was actually the very tender Kingfish starter. Lobster-bisque was good but the lobster was a little overdone. The US beef was nicely cooked but on in the group got a beef with a little too much fat. The wines wa sOK but the staff seemed to lack some knowledge when introducing them. Unfortunately the staff forgot that one in the group was allergic to gluten.

Place/atmosphere: interesting room in Hotel Frankbech with some great details.

Price: Good value compared to other Michelin...
