Eisen-Schmidt — Restaurant in Füssen

We found Eisen-Schmidt while staying at Hotel Sonne and it turned out to be a great choice after a long day out. The restaurant is only a short 2-minute walk from Füssen Altstadt, very easy to reach. We were looking for a quiet, good dinner and this place delivered.

My wife and kids had the turkey schnitzel, I went for the rumpsteak — both were cooked perfectly and tasted excellent. Portions were generous without being over the top. The place was quite busy, mostly full of locals, which is always a good sign.

The staff were warm and friendly, making us feel very welcome. We visited in mid-September during the week, and even though it was busy, service was still smooth and attentive.

Nice “little” bar. I didn’t think it was “that small” but it’s not giant Biergarten either.. We came for the burger that was pictured on google reviews for our 10yr son who isn’t a German food fan..🤣- FYI- hamburgers only in the winter. Entriamo in questa birreria per cenare in due e frettolosamente ci fanno "accomodare" ad un tavolino talmente piccolo che sarebbe andato bene per giocare a carte. Nel contempo un'altra coppia vicina a noi, si alza e libera un tavolo da quattro. Chiediamo alla stessa cameriera di poterci sedere in modo più degno a quel tavolo, ma ci viene risposto negativamente in modo deciso e perentorio. Ci rassegniamo, ma dopo dieci minuti, sempre a quel tavolo, viene fatta sedere un'altra coppia. Oltretutto, diversi altri tavoli da quattro intorno a noi, al momento del nostro ingresso e per tutta la durata della nostra permanenza, erano occupati da sole due persone. Stizzito da tutto ciò, all'arrivo dei nostri piatti, faccio presente della palese discriminazione e chiedo chiarimenti, sempre alla gentilissima cameriera. La quale risponde che dipende dal suo capo e non da lei il fatto che abbiano fatto accomodare due persone ad un tavolo da quattro a differenza nostra. Nessuna logica in tutto ciò... Che dire, ci siamo sentiti i soliti italiani trattati a pesci in faccia, quando invece dovrebbero ringraziarci per i guadagni che realizzano, grazie alla nostra presenza. Cibo: sufficiente.
