Beim Olivenbauer - Füssen — Restaurant in Füssen

We came here, seeing good opinions in Google Maps, but ended quite disappointed. At first we were served very quickly, also food came immediately and staff was friendly. So even if our cordon bleu appeared to be simply untasty and portion was much smaller than what we used to get, ordering this dish in other places (for me it was still fine, but not for my bf) or rather, they put lots of fries for less meat, still I was quite ok with nice drinks and positive staff's attitude. Till it came to paying and trying to get attention of anyone from the staff. When we were ordering/getting the food, there were 2 or 3 various persons coming to us. But not when paying - apparently we could do it only at one of the persons, who was then busy taking payments person by person from a big group, 20+ people. We said like come on, it will take ages, we just want to pay, but then waiters were either ignoring us or showing for their busy colleague, even if they were in given moment having no other tasks. We've never experienced something like that - I understand that you may have specific persons dedicated to table, but if you can send someone else to take an order in a busy time, you could do the same with payments... We paid at the counter in the end, not wanting to wait any longer as it was loud and we got upset with waiting and not...

Some of the other reviews make me sad for kids that don’t appreciate travelling. Our waiter knew 13 languages – yes, the same waiter that some reviews are complaining that he couldn’t speak English very well. And, he was holding down waiting all the tables inside the Tavern. We noticed that he doesn’t mind appropriately placing a hand on an arm in order to direct you to items on the menu, but our party in no way felt intimidated. The cuisine could definitely be considered ‘Authentic Fusion’ – there are traditional dishes – cooked in a traditional style – from both Bavaria and Italy. The chicken was incredibly tender and the beer was great. If you are looking for a more contemporary take on the Schnitzel or Spaetzle, then you will be disappointed. Just had a terrible experience here. Came to the restaurant because it had a special spring menu featuring white asparagus, one of my favorites. When we sat down , the waiter come over and asked what we wanted we to drink. We said two glasses of house wine. I then asked him about their special menu and he said they had none of it. My husband and I quickly discussed the situation and decided we did not want to eat there. I went up to the waiter and told him that we were leaving and he became very rude, saying we had ordered drinks and had to pay for them, even though we had not yet received them. I told him that was not right as the restaurant was advertising a special menu it did not actually have. He demanded I pay so I gave him a credit card and then he said I had to pay a minimum of 20 euros as it was a charge.
