So firstly the pros

👍🏼I love the french pastries and bread. Fresh, beautiful and delicious.

Now the negatives

👎🏼 They do not accept cards which in the year 2024 is utterly bizarre. 👎🏼 When dining in, the experience is utterly chaotic. The staff is all over the place. They are making coffee, waiting tables, servicing the customers at the bakery part etc It would be way more sensible to establish specific stations so the staff is more organized and efficient. 👎🏼 This staff situation then leads to an uncomfortable feeling for the customer who doesn’t know who to order from, who will deliver the check, and then the staff looks stressed, so then the customer feels awkward. The staff generally has an air of grumpiness because of the chaos which again is very unpleasant.

Overall, they really need to organize things better. It’s a mess and the customer feels this chaos and it then becomes uncomfortable to want...

Nothing special about the food to be this overpriced, service sucks as this is an only cash establishment that doesn’t have change, so you always end up paying more, and the atmosphere was the worst.

We had a complete stranger stand by our table watching us who then proceeded to sit down in our table, with no apparent reason to order anything and with many other tables available. The server did nothing about it which makes me think a lot about the situation overall. Once we were out of the place, the man was outside doing thumbs up at us.

Very anti-tourist place. I would not recommend this place unless you want to experience xenophobia.

Baguette Jeanette: not sure how you’re going to send me your lawyers letter to intimidate me as you’ve done with other customers who complained about your unethical...

Vorgestern (Freitag 16.09.2022) war ich das erste Mal bei Baguette Jeanette. Eigentlich wollte ich mich draußen hinsetzen, einen Tee (Verveine?) trinken und eine paar leckere Teilchen essen, aber leider waren alle Tische schon besetzt (11:00) und so hab ich mir was für unterwegs ausgesucht (nicht leicht, weil alles so lecker aussieht und duftet). Ich hab also ein Croissant und zwei Mini-Rosinenschnecken mitgenommen (zusammen 3,75 EUR) und mich in den nahegelegen Bethmann-Park begeben, um die Köstlichkeiten zu verputzen. Als erstes ein Schneckchen. Und wow: so klein aber so gut. Das war sicher die beste Rosinenschnecke, die ich jemals gegessen habe. Das Croissant war auch sehr gut - das Beste? Vielleicht nicht, aber sehr gut. Dann die zweite Schnecke und... kann das sein? Die war noch besser als die erste? Nein, das war nur meine Begeisterung darüber, wie viel Genuß in so einem kleinen Teilchen stecken kann. Fazit: Ich komm wieder und probier alles durch: Macarons, Eclairs, Baguettes, etc etc etc. Und immer wieder ein Schneckchen!! Und dieser charmante französische Akzent von Mademoiselle (Jeanette?). Mehr Paris geht bestimmt nicht in Frankfurt. Cinq étoiles.

Update (Mittwoch 05.10.2022): Früh morgens gleich nach der Ankunft in Frankfurt (nach einer nächtlichen Bahnfahrt von Hamburg) bin ich gleich ins "Baguette Jeanette" für ein leckeres französisches Frühstück. Draußen sitzen ging nicht wegen des Wochenmarkts also hab ich es mir drinnen gemütlich gemacht. Trotz der ansprechenden Frühstücksoptionen habe ich mich für Baguette, Mini-Rosinenschnecke und ein Tartelette Apricot entschieden. Dazu schwarzen Tee (man bekommt eine Sanduhr dazu die einem 2, 3 und 5 Minuten Ziehzeit anzeigt - sehr cool). Alles war wieder sehr lecker und das Aprikosentörtchen für 4,20 EUR war soo gut. Wenn es irgendwann auch mal Verbenentee gibt dann ist Frankreich in Frankfurt endgültig angekommen. Vive...
