Café Essential — Restaurant in Frankfurt

Like other reviews said, this place is pretty slow. We showed up when there were still plenty of tables left and they weren’t that busy but it still took a while for our orders to be taken.

The food was good, but beware the poached eggs if you’re used to poached eggs having a soft center as ours were poached hard. This is our fault, however, for not specifying, so it is not part of the rating but merely a comment to any future patrons.

I waited more than an hour, and when I asked for my food I have been scolded by the lady working there. Edit: (Because the owner answered but there is no answer button for me.) The owner answered, "You did not wait over an hour, it was 49 mins". When I ordered, you did not even write it to somewhere and asked it again after some minutes. However, the main problem is not waiting, it is being scolded when I ask it nicely... After being scolded, I told that "the next table already ordered after than me, they ate, they paid and gone. I had a really nice brunch there last week. The Sourdough sandwich with tender beef on top was amazing - one of the best brunches I have had in Frankfurt.

Also, it seems that their coffee beans are from Hoppenworth & Ploth - I have no doubt about this because the coffee tastes as good.
