The mattresses and the pillows were good, I had a good sleep. The staff was friendly and helpful - we got a hairdryer and hot water (there was no kettle but the staff let us to use the hot water from the cafe on the first floor). Also there was only one hand towel in the room, and when we told about that in the reception, we immediately got the second one. Pity I forgot to ask about the shower mat - turns out there should be one in the room, but we didn't have it. The location is ok - there are metro and tram stations nearby. If you enjoy walks near river, you can get to the city center in about 24 minutes. The biggest disadvantage are the people near metro station - they kind of made us feel unsafe. The sink, the shower and the toilet were separated, but not in the wise way - the sink was right in the bedroom and while the shower tube has a glass door to protect the bedroom from water, the sink does not. The light in the toilet is automatic - when you walk in it lights up and then it goes down 1-2 minutes later and you need to wave your hands like crazy to make it light up again while you're using the toilet. Also, if your neighbor from the upper floor flushes toilet at night you will hear that super clear. The shower handle moves only in one direction and you can't control the heater temperature - it changes from hot to warm, lukewarm and cold and the opposite without touching anything. Terrible experience, especially, when it's winter. It's ok for a one-two nights stay, but...
Read moreI recently stayed at this Ibis Budget location and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the hotel is conveniently located close to public transport lines, which made getting around the city very easy. The area is quiet, which allowed for a restful night’s sleep, and the check-in process was quick and efficient.
However, there were several drawbacks that affected my stay. The room was extremely small and appeared poorly maintained, with visible wear and tear. The shower was also tiny, making it quite uncomfortable to use. One of the more disappointing aspects was the attitude of the staff — I found them to be rather rude and unhelpful.
Additionally, the hotel has a strange policy where card payments are only accepted for amounts over €10, which is quite inconvenient. The biggest issue, however, was being asked to pay for the room again at check-in, despite the fact that my booking had already been charged in advance. I’m still hoping to get that money refunded.
Overall, while the location and check-in process were good, the condition of the rooms and poor service left a lot to be desired. I would recommend this place only if you're in a pinch and need a short, budget stay — but be cautious about the...
Read moreFirst time stayed in an Ibis budget. The rooms are "zweckmäßig eingerichtet" as the German travel catalogues often describe. To me it was a shocking experience not having carpets in the room and stepping out rom the plastic shower cabin directly into the room. There is basic storage possibilities provided, too (no cupboard, chest of drawers, just two small shelves and a coathanger). If you go for large pillows, then this place is not meant for you either. The lighting was well planned and good. The windows only have rollers that can easily jam. In case you are sensitive to the noise of the airplanes, stay away from the area, as you can hear it through the windows (there is a flight stop after 11:00 pm though). One more important advice: should you plan a hairwash, before you start the activity, get down to the reception and get a dryer... Breakfast was good and provided a good variety.
The staff was not extermely friendly with me, except the lady in the breakfast room. Do not confuse them with topics like invoice issuance to a company name. They cannot met it. Location is good, just a few minutes walk off the Ostbahnhof and there is a tram...
