I honestly like the place a lot the service is good and the food tastes nice. But to be very honest, I was really disappointed with the pricing. For example, 4 euros for just one porota feels way too much. For that price, you’d normally expect a set of porotas, not just one.
We actually travelled all the way from Prague just to try Kerala food here, so we were really excited. I get that Frankfurt is an expensive city, but still, this was surprising. As soon as my friends and I saw the prices, we decided to stick with only a few items instead of trying out more dishes. The food itself was tasty, the quantity was okay, but overall it didn’t feel worth the price.
I don’t mind paying good money for good food , but I also expect to leave with a happy tummy, not half empty after spending quite a bit. Maybe if the portion size was bigger for the price, or the price was adjusted to match the portion, it would feel fair.
This is just a small suggestion from me please think about adjusting the prices of some items, especially porotas, so they don’t feel overpriced.
I really hope you take this as a positive review, not a negative one. We were excited to come and try your food and I’d love to come back and explore more from your menu, but right now the prices are the only thing that hold me...
Read moreWe ordered food from Kumba Indian Restaurant for our son's third birthday party, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! We ordered Biryani Rice, Appam, Chicken Roast, Mutton Stew, Gobi, and Veg Stew, and everything was ready on time and perfectly packed.
The food was authentic Kerala-style, exactly the taste we’ve always missed from our native Kerala. All our guests loved the dishes and couldn’t stop appreciating how tasty, flavorful, and well-prepared everything was.
This was actually our second time ordering from Kumba, the first was for our son's second birthday, and once again, they did not disappoint. The quality, taste, and consistency were excellent both times. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food they provide.
We have also visited the restaurant several times with our family, and every time we’ve had a premium dining experience. The food is always fresh, authentic, and delicious, and the service is warm and welcoming.
If you are in Frankfurt and are missing the real spicy and tasty Kerala-style food, I highly recommend Kumba Indian Restaurant. It’s one of the best places for authentic South...
Read moreI recently visited Kumba Indian Restaurant (Wendelsweg 85, Frankfurt am Main) and ordered the following dishes:
Chicken Tikka Kebab (€17.90)
Garlic Naan (€9.00 for 2 pieces)
Malabar Beef Dum Biryani (€19.00)
Beef Roast (€17.90)
Kerala Parotta (€12.00 for 3 pieces)
Mango Lassi (€5.50)
Kulukki Sarbath (€5.50)
Lemon Soda Sweet (€4.50)
Kappa (€7.90)
Kerala Shaap Fish Curry (€19.90)
Taste & Quality: The Kerala Parotta with Beef Roast was quite good, and the Garlic Naan was decent. However, the rest of the dishes were disappointing, especially the Kappa and Kerala Shaap Fish Curry. The fish curry tasted like it was made with artificial food coloring and contained only four small pieces of what seemed like old fish, with an unpleasant heavy sourness. The kappa was bland and not fresh.
Pricing: The total bill came to €119.10 for just these dishes and drinks, which I find extremely overpriced for the taste and quality provided.
Overall Opinion: While a couple of items were okay, most were far below expectations, especially given the high prices. Personally, I would not recommend this restaurant. This review is purely my personal experience...
