I have been to Cafe POW a couple of times now and the man working was so kind and helpful. I don't speak German and he was able to assist me in English. They also allow people to work on their computers there, which is essential for me since I work remotely. The atmosphere is vibrant and cozy and they also have a separate room where you can pay to work for the day that is designed specifically for co-working. I have not tried any of their food items, but saw many people eating cake and pastries (and they look delicious!). I got the Matcha Latte both times and was satisfied. They also have a vegan...

Meine Freundin hatte für unseren Urlaub und den ersten Besuch in Freiburg das Cafe POW im Internet rausgesucht und es als kleinen "Starter" für den heutigen Abend geplant. War soweit auch ganz nett. Einen Stern gibt's von mir für das Ambiente (kuschelig, locker und gemütlich) und einen weiteren für die echt leckeren Weine. Leider war es das dann aber auch. Leider haben mir einige Umstände ziemlich den Abend verhagelt, allen voran ein Teil der Gäste. In der Schlange zum Weinstand wird geschubst und dreist vorgedrängelt als ob der Stand gleich leer ist. Es werden Sitzplätze blockiert weil "die schon besetzt sind" aber nach 15 Minuten ist der Stuhl immer noch leer. Zu guter Letzt dann noch das Sahnehäubchen des Personals. Auf die Frage, ob man einen 5 Euro Schein wechseln könnte, weil der Parkautomat nur Münzen nimmt, kommt die Antwort "Tut mir leid, die Kasse ist grade zu." Eine der wohl ältesten Ausreden überhaupt. Auf meine Frage, wie denn die Kasse geöffnet wird, wenn man im Anschluss abrechnet, wurde jede weitere Kommunikation verweigert. Ich gehe mal aus Erfahrung (und ich stand schon hinter diversen Kassen) davon aus, dass die Kasse auch so geöffnet werden kann. Schließlich wird das Personal zur Schlussrechnung wohl kaum selbst was kaufen, nur damit sich die Kasse öffnet. Aber mit Ausreden und anschließendem Schweigen abgespeist zu werden ist mehr als unschön und hinterlässt sowohl für den Urlaub als auch für den ersten Eindruck von Freiburg einen ziemlich schlechten Beigeschmack. Mal schauen ob der Rest besser wird und den ersten Eindruck wieder rausreißt, den das POW...
