Hermann Café — Restaurant in Freiburg im Breisgau

I stopped at Hermann Cafe in Freiburg for lunch and had an amazing experience! The rooftop cafe offers a stunning view of the city, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal. I had a delicious vegetarian salad, and it was so refreshing to get some fresh veggies after eating a lot of unhealthy food. The limoncello spritz was a perfect accompaniment, and the gentle breeze added to the lovely atmosphere.

The service was outstanding! Even though I don't speak German, the staff was incredibly kind and helped me navigate the menu and get connected to the WiFi. This place is a gem for anyone exploring the city, offering friendly service, great food, and beautiful views. 10 out of 10...

It's a really cute place, but it was so loud that it was hard to really even completely understand what my friends in front of me were saying. Also it was really dark. We came there hoping to have some drinks and food to relax and catch up, but that was rather hard to do due to the named circumstances. The service was really nice, a bit too upfront but attentive. On the menu, it said that they would serve waffles all day, but as I asked for one, they said they don't serve them that late. That disappointed me, as I really looked forward to the waffle :( I can't say anything about the food in general, as I just had something to drink, but my friend really...

I order fried rice with chicken from the weekly menu and as I started eating my dish, which did not taste great and doused in soy sauce I found that one of the pieces to chicken breast was raw. I immediately notified the service staff who were very apologetic, they took my plate and brought me a new one, I did not want a new one, but whatever. I expected at least to not have to pay for the dish with raw chicken but I still did, as a reconciliation they offered me a free dessert or coffee.

I think that this is unacceptable. And it’s a shame because I came here many times before...
