We stayed one night in the Knuffelkamer, and it was SO fine! Very clean, well-equipped, with tea, coffee etc. We had been a little afraid of noise from what seemed to be a beer garden under our windows, but it was a very quiet and nice garden only for people staying. It must also for be a perfect place to stay for more than one night, as there was also a washing machine etc. We were surprised to find that there was also free parking in the town, and it was very easy to find a place to park. We can only...

This is a must if you visit Friedrichstadt. We were walking the village and got thirsty. They had just opened at 16.00 hours (4 pm) and They welcomes us warmly. We started out with a 1621 beer that is only made for this town. The name comes from the year the brewery was founded. After that we tried a super thin crust pizza-like creation with roots from France. We also enjoyed the house wine. This is a super...

We arrived before the kitchen had opened and they have a real cool “bier automat” outside that kept us going before they opened. Wonderful place and atmosphere by the canal. When they opened we ordered three flammkuchen. Two for lunch and one sweet for dessert. All three were fabulous! Best so far in Germany! Really worth a visit for a nice cold drink or something good to eat. Very...
