After waiting for more than 1 year, I finally heard the good news, ZamZam is open again! Yesterday I had a chance to try this "famous" restaurant. To be honest first impression was a bit negative, only one table was occupied during the peak dinner time and the waiter was not in place. 🤔 When waiter showed up (he is also owner, learned that later) this negative impression turned into positive one! He is funny and frank. We ordered appetizer plates (vegan & non-vegan), falafel, kebab and half chicken. Other than rice pilaf, everything was just purely and unbelievablely delicious! According to owner, his wife cooks everything which is also unbelievable! BUT come here if you have enough time, our meals took around 45 min - 1 hour to be prepared. Another issue was that owner did not put the prices of drinks on the menu, also there was no check at the end, owner simply told us that we need to pay - €57 for all meal which is a bummer not knowing what costs what.

Absolutely wonderful dinner experience! The food is halal and there’s many vegan options! I was even able to get a vegan appetizer plate! The man (Dr microbiologist!) who served us spoke English and he was incredibly nice and friendly. He gave us lentil soup for free and it was delish! He was super helpful when we didn’t know what to order. I 1000% recommend this to everyone! Important: *call 3 days ahead if you want injera! *cash only I only put minus one star because we had to wait long for food. I wish Google let me put 4.5 stars because that would be a more accurate representation. So I’d say that’s the only thing they can improve on. Regardless, if you have time, this is a wonderful restaurant! See you soon!

Nice ambience, great food, friendly staff/owner. The owner (also staff) is well-versed in English, which is a plus if you prefer placing your order in English, or like to know about the dish. I ordered Shish Taouk. The grilled chicken was delicious, rice was just perfectly cooked, and the Eritrean sauce served was a very flavourful. The portion size is very good. Price is normal compared to similar dishes from other cuisines (like Indian, Iranian). I was also given a sample of a special Eritrean bread, which I learned from the owner that it takes 3 days to prepare. I would visit this place again to try their Mandi, and other delicacies. I would recommend this place.

Erster Besuch 21.05.2022 , zweiter...
