Ratscafé — Restaurant in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Th entire visit was irritating: On arrival the waitress complained to us that she is alone with only one Chef - and he seems to work slow. Is that my problem?

We asked for the menu and were promted, pretty unfriendly, to scan the QR code - and she left out table. I was unable to ask her for the wifi password, as we had no 4G.

She returned after some time asking what we want to order. Explaining her that we don t have WiFi amd we would need the PW she grumbled something we couldn't understand and she was gone again. She reminded us that she is very busy.

After some time she returned and we just ordered two coffee, without having seen the menu and not ordering any food.

My partner, a foreigner, went to the bathroom and forgot to wear his face mask. He got a long lecture in Bavarian- English on how things work in.Bavaria. She then came to me and complaint about my partner with the same speech about the infamous Bavarian legislation. We do not believe in any conspiracy and do wear face masks, but just forgot it for the moment. A short " wear your mask please" would have done the job!

Atmosphere: a very homely and cosy place

Service: the woman there was very very friendly and recommended us the off menu items that were being currently prepared in the kitchen.

Food: food was nice, we ordered the pumpkin soup, weissewurst, ratscafe omelette , a brezel, and a beer, total came out to be around 30 euros.

Everything was good, maybe with the exception of the omelet as it was around 10 euros which was a little overpriced in our opinion.

This is such a cute little restaurant. It's nice and cozy on the inside and has a subtle owl theme. It also has a nice tented outside area. The owner waited on us and she was so very nice. She took the time to explain how my dumpling was made. I had a homemade mushroom soup with a dumpling . She said they pick the mushrooms themselves. Husband was the chef. My soup was so rich and delicious . My husband had an amazing chicken soup followed by bratwurst. Our meal was great on a rainy day, what made it special was the...
