Kafayas Café & Spécialités — Restaurant in Hamburg

Mediocre coffee / tea despite the promising marketing on the website… Very disappointed by the absence of “African” ingredients like yam, plantain and beans ;-(

I reserved a table specifically mentioning traditional West African dishes and wasn’t notified that those are unavailable. Upon arrival, the friendly waitress explained to (hungry!) me that yam, etc. were removed from the menu since they were difficult to source… really?! In Hamburg?

Overall the quality of ingredients is not as high and exquisite as the marketing suggests. An ok selection of tea is being served with a plastic sieve… so called heritage coffee was tasted like filter coffee you get in the office. We tried the „Burundi“. The classic breakfast was ok. No gluten free options though.

Overall - good vibes and a warm atmosphere ✨ Could have been a new favorite spot if not for the culinary...

This lovely little corner café charmed us from the minute we walked in. The display case of utterly sinful delicious cakes, tarts and patisserie wonders distracted us so much we almost missed that there is a great savoury menu as well. So we went back to the counter and ordered some sandwiches with fried egg on top which was prepared exactly the way we asked for. We'll definitely come back to enjoy more of their wonderful food and the charming setting plus friendly...

Wir sind zu viert am Pfingstmontag im Kafayas Café gewesen und hatten vorab reserviert (was letztlich auch gut gewesen ist!).

Das Kafayas ist gemütlich und rustikal von der Einrichtung zugleich. Die Bestellung gaben wir am Tisch auf, aus dem umfassenden Kuchenangebot wählten wir direkt an der Theke. Sowohl die Kaffeespezialitäten als auch die Süßspeisen kamen nahezu parallel und für alle zeitgleich.

Sowohl der Milchkaffee als auch der Cappuccino und der Matcha Tee sind cremig zubereitet, vollmundig und sehr köstlich. Neben Milch werden alle gängigen Milchalternativen angeboten gegen Aufpreis. Die Kuchenvariationen sind vielfältig und besonders (siehe Bilder), alle Kuchen waren ein Genuss, saftig und frisch!

Die Preise sind sowohl für die Kaffeespezialitäten als auch für die Kuchenstücke überdurchschnittlich, sodass man für jeweils ein Heißgetränk und ein Kuchenstück rasch bei 9-10€ landet, Trinkgeld nicht eingerechnet.

Da das Café an einer verkehrsberuhigten Straßenecke liegt (Nordausrichtung), kann man Kaffee & Co. auch draußen genießen.

Das Personal ist super freundlich, herzlich und kam zweimal nach Servieren an unseren Tisch, um nach Befinden und Nachbestellungen zu fragen.
