Pani Smak — Restaurant in Hamburg

I was there already several times and I tried almost everything soo let’s be honest about it… In the beginning (around 3 years ago) everything was really tasty, maybe not completely authentic but at least full of flavour and in a reasonable price! I have no idea what happened but after last week I have to change a bit my opinion! Soooo whenever I was there ether alone or with my friends I was always trying to try as many things as possible cause I Just LOOOVE Polish cuisine… this Time We ordered Bigos, Zapiekanka, Zraz with kluski, Zurek and of course 3 different kind of Pierogi… Bigos wasn’t even sour and had a weird smell, Zurek was definitely not a soup that I use to Love, have no clue what was it ?! Pierogi we’re good but not mind blowing and Zapiekanka is just a baguette with some ham, cheese and mushrooms sooo for sure it was tasty! Remember that all portion are rather solid and filling so if you don’t feel like wasting food my advice is to order dishes one by one, whenever you finish one dish, order next one… I hope that they gonna fix the taste and perhaps invest in a new location! However I think I will not go there again but all the best gor the owners!

I recently dined at Pani Smak in Hamburg and while the service was friendly, I was left wanting more from the experience. The restaurant itself has a basic, unassuming atmosphere, which might appeal to some but wasn't particularly inviting to me. The food, while served in generous portions, didn't quite live up to the price tag. The soup, a dish I often enjoy in Poland, lacked the depth of flavor I was expecting. Additionally, the salad felt a bit lackluster, with the vegetables appearing slightly past their prime. Despite these shortcomings, the waiter was attentive and pleasant throughout the meal. PL: Atmosfera była swobodna, z prostym, niewyszukanym wystrojem, który sprawiał, że miejsce było przyjemne. Jedzenie było ogólnie smaczne, ale nie wszystko wydawało się być przygotowane od podstaw. Zupa, choć smaczna, miała wyraźny smak jakby była zrobiona z półproduktów, co nie uzasadniało jej ceny 6€. Dania mięsne - Rolada była wyróżniającym się punktem – bardzo dobrze przygotowane i smaczne. Jednakże sos do mięsa był zbyt zagęszczony mąką, co psuło ogólną jakość dania. Biorąc pod uwagę cenę 24€ za mięso, wydawało się ono zdecydowanie zbyt drogie, zwłaszcza w porównaniu do najlepszych restauracji w Warszawie, gdzie podobne dania kosztują mniej. Obsługa była miła i biegle mówiła po polsku, co dodawało autentycznego charakteru do doświadczenia kulinarnego. Jednak wysokie ceny pozostawiały gorzki posmak, ponieważ jakość nie do końca odpowiadała kosztom. Ogólnie rzecz biorąc, mimo że restauracja ma swoje zalety, stosunek jakości do ceny jest wątpliwy. Smaczne jedzenie i miła obsługa są równoważone przez wysokie ceny i niektóre aspekty jedzenia, które nie były przygotowane od podstaw.

EN: The atmosphere was casual, with an unpretentious decor that felt welcoming. The food was generally tasty, but not everything seemed to be made from scratch. The soup, while flavorful, had the distinct taste of being made with a half-prepared bouillon, which did not justify its €6 price tag. The meat dishes - Rolada were a highlight, prepared very well and tasting delicious. However, the sauce that accompanied the meat was overly thickened with flour, detracting from the overall quality of the dish. Considering the price of €24 for the meat, it felt significantly overpriced, especially when compared to top restaurants in Warsaw where similar dishes cost less. The staff was friendly and fluent in Polish, adding an authentic touch to the dining experience. However, the high prices left a bitter taste, as the quality did not entirely match the cost. Overall, while the restaurant has its merits, the value for money is questionable. The tasty food and nice staff are offset by the high prices and some aspects of the food not being made...
