Katana Sushi — Restaurant in Hamburg

This is bad. For starters, it is worse than another place not 50m away (Sushi 153) by any metric you want to use - fish quality, shari or price. Then the actual pieces range between OK to bad to downright awful. Some bizarre combinations that would make chefs in Japan cry. If this was meant to be a grab-and-go cheap kind of sushi then maybe I wouldn't bother. But for their value proposition, I'd strongly suggest you to stay as far away as you can. Nettes kleines Lokal

Die Bewertung bezieht sich auf einen Besuch mit zwei Personen im November 2023. Gegessen wurde jeweils eine Suppe vorab und eines der angebotenen Sushi-Menüs, getrunken wurden alkoholfreie Getränke.

Es handelt sich um ein kleines aber gut gelegenes und sauberes Restaurant. Das Personal war höflich und bemüht, leider etwas langsam.

Die Auswahl der Speisen war überschaubar, was ich grundsätzlich für ein gutes Zeichen halte. Nach Bestellung mussten wir relativ lange warten. Die Menüs waren eher klein. Das Sushi schmeckte durchschnittlich. Nicht schlecht, aber auch nicht überragend. Auf einigen Nigiri hatte der Koch eine süß-scharfe Sauce verteilt (diejenige, welche man zum Würzen von Geflügel gut verwenden kann), was nicht schmeckte und keinesfalls authentisch ist. Der Fisch war frisch, die Maki eher wenig kunstfertig gerollt und geschnitten. Die Präsentation des Essens - gerade bei Sushi wichtig - war mittelmäßig. Nach meinem Empfinden stimmte das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis leider nicht.

Fazit: Man kann gut dort essen, aber satt wird man nicht mit schmalem Geldbeutel, hohe Ansprüche an japanische Küche sollte man nicht stellen.
