Kebab House KURTULAN — Restaurant in Hamburg

Im visiting Hamburg and during my stay in was at Ibis hotel in Wandsbek,

While there were bunch of doner places near there, and after trying few of them, none of them really hit the spot.

So I decided to venture out and fine a good doner place, and that how I stumbled here, After 40 min ride on S1, and a shirt walk you get to this hole in the wall place that pretty much serve only doner.

When I tried to order they said its chicken and beef combined, but I asked if they cold only put the beef and they agreed.

My my did this doner hit the spot or what.. idk if it was the journey here or they were that good, but definitely one of the better doners I have had in Hamburg.

If you are in the city, do take some time out of your day to give them a try. You wont be disappointed.

Live close by since many years but never stopped by because of the exterior looking a bit torn down and uninviting for a corner shop. Went there now based on a friends recommendation, and man was it a reveal! Very kind service through a small window, several people eating outside on a few provided benches sitting in the sun. I orderer a lamb kebab which they do every Tuesday and Thursday. For 9.50€ you have to deliver and they did! Crisp bread, good portion of delicious lamb, lettuche, tomato, spring onions and tzatziki garnished by coriander and a peperoni. I clearly missed out...

Würde gerne jetzt mal meine Meinung über diesen Laden, Döner schreiben.

Zunächst einmal vorweg der Inhaber ist sehr nett, aufmerksam und auch einfach freundlich im Umgang mit den Kunden.

Nun zum Döner: Da man ja einiges gesehen und gehört hat, musste ich ja auch mal den Laden besuchen, zumal ich als Hamburger nie etwas von dem Laden zuvor mitbekam.

Das Fleisch an sich ist definitiv lecker und schmackhaft, gut gewürzt, das Brot frisch, der Salat auch, das Dürüm dafür standard und nicht selbst gemacht.

Bei meinem 1. Besuch war das Fleisch bereits in guter Menge vorgeschnitten, was ich persönlich gar nicht mag und gerade wenn kaum was los ist, ich wenig Verständnis für habe.

Die Signature Peperoni habe ich bei beiden Besuchen nicht auf meinen Döner bekommen, weder abends um 17h, noch mittags um 12h. Der Döner selbst ist auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert, aber wenn ich ganz ehrlich sein darf, so dermaßen übertrieben krass geil, wie mir vorher mitgeteilt worden ist, habe ich ihn nicht empfunden.

Ich hatte extreme Erwartungen und mir fehlte der letzte Kick, was den Döner absolut besonders macht. Diese Erwartungen beruhen nicht nur auf Bewertungen, sondern auch auf den Preis, der bei 7.50€ (Lammfleisch) nicht gerade ein Schnapper ist, woanders bekomme ich einen Teller dafür, dennoch bin ich bereit dieses Geld zu zahlen, wenn es richtig fetzt.

Der Laden an sich ist klein, ein bißchen mehr Sauberkeit im Gästebereich würde schön sein.

Wenn ich weiterhin ehrlich sein darf, ja empfehlen würde ich ihn, als recht guten Döner, aber ich habe in Hamburg auch schon noch mal bessere gegessen. Ich denke, es ist sehr viel "Hype" dabei. Dennoch danke und weiterhin...
