Madrigal Tapas Bar (Winterhude) — Restaurant in Hamburg

Sucks big time. Food is awful, the place is unclean, servers didn't seem to care about our feedback and instead argued. Complete no go. It was my friend's birthday and also her visit to Germany. We decided to try out tapas at Madrigal. Little did we know that this would turn into kitchen nightmares! Sangria pitcher came with no fruits. We got glasses with ice and orange slices to pour the sangria on!Goatcheese wrapped with bacon turned out as brown watery puddle with 2 blobs of overcooked bacon and rubbery cheese in the centre. It was a pool of balsamico and tasted like acid! Gambas al ajillo- that was rubber bullets al ajillo, tortilla de patata - was piece of a pool float. Cooked maybe 3 days back and not even microwaved properly. It was cold and hard, chicken curry smelt and tasted like it was cooked in coconut oil. The staff kept refusing despite the stench n taste. My friend is allergic to coconut by the way. The only saving grace was fried potatoes. We left every dish unfinished. Food is old and nicrowaved, interiors dated and unclean with cobwebs hanging from the chandelier right over our food and the management is in denial. Food was mediocre…way too expensive for the quality or the quantity. Service was even worse…empty plates and glasses were left not taken away the whole night, unordered food came and ordered food were late. At the end we wanted to pay cash then changed our mind to pay with card, but then we’re told the system wouldn’t allow us to change our mind and we needed to go to the next bank to get cash, after 3 hours of drinking and eating that seemed a very unreasonable demand from the restaurant. Waitress was self-righteous and dismissing, in fact she was so arrogant that she laughed at us when we complained that it can’t be that a “system” dictates how we ask customers could pay. Unterirdischer Service!

Wir hatten uns sehr aufs Tapas essen gefreut. Der Abend fing schon nicht so gut an, indem uns unterstellt wurde wir hätten angeblich nicht reserviert, obwohl wir einen Tag zuvor angerufen hatten. Nachdem wir nach etwas warten einen Tisch bekommen haben, mussten wir 45 Minuten warten und einen Kellner auffordern mal Getränke aufzunehmen. Alle Tische um uns herum haben Brot und Dip serviert bekommen. Nach Bestellung der Speisen fragen wir nach dem Brot, welches nach mehrfachem nachfragen immer noch nicht gebracht wurde. Als das Essen kam, wurden zwei Sachen falsch gebracht, als wir dies reklamierten wurden wir gefragt ob wir denn das was wir eigentlich bestellt hatten haben wollen (was für eine Frage, natürlich wollten wir das haben was wir bestellt haben). Die richtigen Sachen wurden dann nur zur Hälfte gebracht, der Rest wurde vergessen. Brot mussten wir uns dann selber holen, da es nach 4 mal nachfragen nicht gebracht wurde, Dip gab es gar nicht . Es wurde sich nicht einmal entschuldigt, dass wir die ganze Zeit von den Kellnern ignoriert wurden und das Essen falsch/ gar nicht gebracht wurde. Das mindeste wäre gewesen, dass man uns bei Bezahlung entgegen kommt und z.B die Getränke von der Rechnung nimmt, aber uns wurde trotz des sehr sehr schlechten Service alles berechnet.
