Peter Pane — Restaurant in Hamburg

Never Again!! Peter Pane? More like Peter PAIN.

I had ordered food for take away (order # 23787364 / 10th Nov.) and arrived at 20.25 for pick up as required.

Upon arrival, the waitress appeared stressed and out of her mind .. After a few minutes, she approached me and asked for my details. I happily advised that I'm here for pickup and gave her my order number. She then confidently claimed "its just being finalised!"

The only problem with this statement was that nothing was being finalised.

I waited nearly 1 hr before I could finally pick up my order (which was paid in advance). The waitress who served me continued to serve others in the restaurant whilst going to and from the kitchen .. passing me every single time .. yet did not once apologise nor ask the kitchen for my order. Other service personnel also could see that I had been waiting forever yet also did nothing. Only 1 guy .. thankfully .. noticed that I had been waiting and only this 1 guy actually did something to address the situation.

Without him, I'm sure I'd still be at the entrance of the restaurant waiting for my order.

Absolutely shameful service (with the exception of one guy) and a restaurant that ill never again visit. To pay full price and experience this service is utterly disgusting.

Plus I didn't write anything about getting the wrong order .. I wrote about receiving shameful service and waiting 1 hr before receiving my order!!

Decent burger place. They have a large menu (with pics), lots of options including vegan ones, and their menu is marked with allergens, so it's sure to fit a groups' dietary needs.

The burger itself was just OK. There isn't an option to have your burger medium/rare, which tells me it's manufactured/pre-made (and tastes like it too). Maybe the €2.90 Black Angus upgrade would have been better, but not sure. The multi-grain bun was pretty good, the mushrooms were good and the sauce was good (I think the burger would have been pretty bad without the sauce). For the base price of €10 for a burger (only), I would have expected a better burger patty itself.

The sweet potato fries (€8.50) were really good, although I ordered a half pound size and the amount that came out didn't look like a half pound. There are a bunch of side sauce options that come with a order of fries, but otherwise would cost €2.50. They also had vegan sauces on the table.

If I come back here, I'd probably just order the sweet...

The last time I've been to a Hans im Glück (Peter Pane*) the atmosphere was bad because it was extremely noisy (due to loud music); this time around, at Peter Pane, the atmosphere was great. The music wasn't too loud, the decor was simple and welcoming with good lighting.

The service was extremely fast despite us being a group of close to 30 people! No wrong order was delivered and the waiting time was minimal.

As for the food itself - excellent 👌 my choice (see pics) Was the "Nacho Macho" double burger and Guacamole Sweet Potato fries, both of which tasted great. The salt level at the restaurant is low to medium - just enough to be present but in no way tasting salty.

With the changes made to the franchise, I think Peter Pane is a great place to visit with tasty burgers and sides and is equally suited for a lone dine out, a date or even a large group 👍🏻

(*) Peter Pane and Hans im Glück used to be the same thing, but they split into different franchises a few years ago, creating Peter Pane...
