Restaurant L´Orient — Restaurant in Hamburg

I came here for dinner with my friend today. The restaurant is small, with an indoor and outdoor area. The seats filled up quickly during dinner time and I'd definitely recommend to book - even on a Tuesday! We shared the mezza as a starter and it was a delicious selection of small tasters that went perfectly well with the bread, olive oil and Zaatar. It was a perfect amount to start with. We both choose the dinner special. Kabeljau with a lemon potato mash, beans with coriander and other spices, Tahini sauce/dressing and pomegranate seeds. The portion size was reasonable and filling. The fish was juicy and tender. Every dish we had was extremely flavourful and I highly recommend this place. The service was attentive, friendly and fast. We would definitely return! Prices are slightly on the higher price but well worth it! It was our lucky day when we received a little surprise desert from the kitchen. I can't remember what exactly the dish was but it was just as delicious as the rest. It was some sort of ice cream with a little taster of a cake-like/fruit puree slice. For a dinner we were four of us and wanted to order the largest starter selection and two main courses and share them among us, as we didn't know how big the portions are, after we ordered a bottle of Lebanese wine. According to the waitress she couldn't accept our request until three main dishes were ordered. We've stated that she shouldn't worry about our consumption 'cause we like to eat and that we'll continue to order if we are not satisfied. She has insisted on it and therefore we've waived the appetizers and then were forced to order another main course. This behavior was completely uncharmant, which we don't know at all in Munich. Well, the food was so good that of course we ordered further, as we had suspected but unfortunately we couldn't taste the mezes. As I also made the waitress aware, the dishes were very good quality and very delicious but her attitude in advance didn't fit at all, that I wouldn't give the restaurant any second chance, as we always like to eat outside and not only that Enjoying food, but also the whole experience. I expected more from the restaurant for this price. First of all forks and knives were not really clean. Looked like not washed but just wiped after previous usage. And already so old and scratched , do you can't believe that you are in the restaurant in the very central place We had a table outside. But then heavy rain started . And they are absolutely not prepared for such cases. There is moveable "roof", but it covers only one row of tables that is close to the wall of the restaurant. And they have no other solution for the rest of the tables. So we got enough of rain water into our dishes before we moved inside. Luckily inside was empty just for the reason that you need to have covid-test to be there. But imagine if whole restaurant was occupied? Should i eat under the rain?! I would expect them having big terrace umbrellas which they could bring to cover the tables.

The dishes was good, but can't say they were really special. And sure to rain i was reading already cold .
