Restaurant Spanische Treppe — Restaurant in Hamburg

The location is amazing when the sun is out and the weather is nice. The food is very average and considering its price, I’d say slightly below average. We ordered different dish and I tried all of them. The French fries was very oily and old, you could simply say that by its saggy potato skin. The salad was super boring, some green leaves with a warm goat cheese garnished with pomegranate seeds and olive oil, that’s it. For that price I would have expected at lease some home-made dressing. The service was not good at all. They were forgetting orders, slow and very confused. I could totally get that that when we were there the restaurant was full and they seemed to be under staffed, but of course not pleasant from our side! I’ll be back to this place but only to enjoy sun...

Unfortunately, I must honestly say that the restaurant can only score points with its location. It is nothing extraordinary. Just simple village Spanish cuisine (not run by Spaniards, so would-be Spanish cuisine). The prices only explain the location but not the quality.

But what I must emphasize is the service! The staff is more than eager to serve a wonderful evening! They keep the place alive. Otherwise, everything is very designed for fast money.

Sorry for the direct feedback, but would not be my companion, I would be pretty sure quickly out of the restaurant.

Nonetheless the restaurant has been around for a long time, so it resonates with certain people. I'm not one of them.

The albondigas and papas arrugadas are good, the location too. But I´m Spanish and overall the food is not good. The tortilla de patata is a basic and that was not even tortilla de patata...incredibly bad, its easier to cook a real tortilla de patata than what they did. I think you must do your own version and mix our food with the Moroccan cuisine, if not it doesn´t make sense. Also the music you have on the background is Mexican... but if it´s a Spanish place you should take into consideration those things cause it looks bad.
